NBA Standings

Suns: 64-18, 1st place Western Conference

An NBA Western Conference Game 2 between the #8 Seed and the #1 Seed.  What are we supposed to do?... Gamde 1 was free money. The Point Spread jumped by 2-2.½ points.  We are supposed to believe that the team with a losing record and a superstar that does not play because of injury… will all of a sudden turn it around against the most well-rounded team in the league? I can’t. You shouldn’t.  PG Chris Paul for the Phoenix Suns is 3 weeks away from his 37th birthday.. He missed the ast 123 games of the regular season.  In Game 1 CP3 had 30 points and 10 assists.  Chris Paull has never made a team anything but better when he is on the floor.  Ever.  The Suns outside of Chris Paul are a great team.  They are deep, Home built, wonderfully mixed between young and veteran… and they have Chris Paul. When the Hall Of Fame includes Chris Paul they will have to make a special category that has Magic, John Stockton, Tiny Archibald, and whoever is your favorite PG… Chris would fit in fine with all that company.  The problem with people thinking RINGS make the career is that they have to dismiss several of the best players ever.  Rings are about teams… and Chris is about to get one. The Pelicans won a lot just to get here.  They feel the pull of vacation… it is such a reality that the Pelicans will be fishing soon that they may already be getting blackened catfish Po’ Boys at lunchtime in New Orleans. The Pelicans have SG CJ McCollum and SF Brandon Ingram playing great and forming an entirely new identity.  Everyone else on the roster is a potential trade chip. The Pelicans have reached the point of their development where they prve they belong… but need lots of help.

The Pelicans lost the Game 1 matchup with the Suns 110-99.  It was a loss and an ATS loss.  Vegas immediately jumped the [point spread to 10 points.  That spread is supposed to scare you.  It shouldn’t.  The Pelicans don’t have enough quality players to take on the Suns.  A big reason why would be their record this season… and their record the last 3 seasons… and that the Pelicans simply do not have a real chance in this series.  I would hate to be a chalk eater… I would hate to pick one team over the other… but if I go deep into the Pelicans numbers I find the Suns are better in every category.

The Suns won the first game of the series and it was a big win ATS.  The Suns got little out of everybody… the reason is a lot of Suns starters got to rest often and early.  Chris Paul had 30 points, Devin Booker had 25 points, and DeAndre Ayton had 21 points.  The Suns essentially did victory laps starting in the 3rd quarter. SG Landry Shamet got a DNP, C Bismack Biyombo got a DNP, PGs Aaron Holiday and Elfrid Payton got DNPs… all those names are needed when the Suns need to rest guys.  All those names will be pressed into action if Coach Monty Williams needs to rest the top guys.  They didn;t, they weren’t needed… they are always at the ready.  Bet the Suns.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Phoenix Suns Game Prediction

Our prediction for Tuesday, April 19th is…..  Suns 122 - Pelicans 110

The Pelicans will win again and will win ATS again.  Take the money.  Vegas says you need this money… so take it. The Pelicans' lack of defense simply can not stand up to the Suns' two-way attack.  The Suns will score with impunity and the Pelicans will struggle to stay on the court.
