Pelicans vs Nets Prediction

The current betting odds have the Nets listed as a 3 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Nets just had a very bad season where they had to trade away a star in James Harden to the 76ers midseason, getting Ben Simmons and a few others in return, and then he did not play a single game last season having their year capped off by getting swept by the Celtics in the 1st round of the playoffs. Kyrie has committed himself to the team this season but all the questions in the offseason were about Kevin Durant who tried to force his way out via trade and is now returning to the team once again for another season after saying he would not come back with the current coach and GM. Durant is still a competitor though and whether he likes the situation or not, he will be playing for a championship this year with the pieces that are around him. Kyrie Irving will actually be with the team from the start of the season and Simmons will also be starting from day 1 as well. This is going to be a much improved team with all of their stars back and playing together. The Pelicans put together a decent season last year getting to the 1st round of the playoffs where they fizzled out, and they made a lot of moves to try and make that happen. Zion Williamson is still not fully healthy though and it is still unclear if he will play in this game. The team was still very good without him last season but now the Nets have their stars back and will be ready to go and try to win the division this season. They will be on a mission from day 1 here to prove a point in this league. The best way to place a bet here is on the Nets to cover the spread in this game.
