Patriots vs Bengals Prediction

The current betting odds have the Patriots listed as an 8.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Patriots were terrible in their games last season with their 4-13 record overall and that signified the end of Belichick's long tenure in New England. Mayo is now taking over this season with a new starting quarterback as the team drafted Drake Maye, but they will be rolling out Brissett as the early season starter for now. Luckily for the Patriots, Brissett has a lot more NFL experience and is a very competent choice to start this opening game so he won't fall flat on his face here, especially with something to prove still. Meanwhile, the Bengals were 9-8 last season and had a really rocky season that was riddled with injuries. Joe Burrow is going to be back healthy for the start of the season, but now they are dealing with a contract dispute with his number 1 target Chase. They also lost Joe Mixon in the off-season and replaced him with Moss, but that is still going to be a bit of a downgrade for this run game. They have also been a bit of a slow starting team lately, losing their first 2 games of the season last year and losing their season opener 2 years in a row. The Patriots were terrible last season but they have made a lot of changes this year and they have a chance to shock this Bengals team in week 1. The best way to place a bet here is on the Patriots to cover the spread in this game.

Patriots Bengals Prediction:  Our NFL Pick for Sunday, September 8, 2024 (1:00 pm ET start time) is Bengals 20 Patriots 13.
