An inter conference matchup between the best in the West and the ho-hum in the East.  It really should be the worst against the Best… but OMG!!  This season is crazy insane!  This season is an NBA fan’s dream!  This season is the magical bullet that drops several guys form the all-star roster and replaces them with young guys!  The Utah Jazz are the most fun team rto watch in the NBA!  I said it!  For decades I have never said that.  Even when John Stockton and Karl Malone were delivering the Jazz to 3 Finals in a row (3 losses to MJ)... I still didn’t think they were a fun watch.  But this version of the Jazz?... This collection of nobodies (only because we haven’t focused on them much) is killing the game with teamwork and recently realized upside. The Current Utah Jazz players of SF Lauri Markkanen, PG Mike Conley, SG Jordan Clarkson, and sixth man and combo guard Collin Sexton are just too much to stop… but the rest of the roster has quality guys in Malik Beasley, Talen-Horten Tucker (the guy LeBron wanted to keep on the Lakers), and Walker Kessler can rally really play… I also haven’t mentioned the great job Jarred Vanderbilt has been doing at Starting Center in the wake of Rudy Gobert! The Jazz are on the way up… and they have a treasure trove of picks to get that happening!  The Philadelphia 76ers are not what we thought!  We all thought that a perennial MVP candidate in Center Joel Embiid and a former MVP in SG James Harden and crazy fun young players like PG Tyrese Maxey or SF (and way overpaid) Tobias Harris.. Could combine to do great things.  After 12 games they haven’t.  They have not even combined for a winning record.  James Harden is missing a month with an injury… and the rest of the roster are wondering what their spots mean?  Head Coach Doc Rivers must be tired of this yo-yo like performance… Back in his day guys played till they bled… and they said “sorry” whenever the coach pointed out a problem… That might be the problem.  The losing 76ers don’t say they are accountable for anything other than a press conference… but on the court at the moment?.. They all need to be accountable to each other.

The Utah Jazz are on a 4-game winning streak.  They won their last game against the Atlanta Hawks 125 - 119.  They got 32 points from SF Lauri Markkanen, 23 points from Sg Jordan Clarkson, and 18 points from Malik Beasley.  Malik has been outshining combo guard Collin Sextojn in the last two games… It doesn’t present a problem.. It just highlights how this team is very deep. The whole league thought that the Jazz were going to be on the “tankathon” in search of that #1 pick… They aren’t, they are winners, they will keep using whatever is available to them to win games.

The Philadelphia 76ers have done what they always do!... Play well against no expectations and play poorly against high expectations.  This team has been a legit contender the last 3 seasons… It hasn’t worked out… AND the performance of the roster is starting to say “Our window is closed”.  That is atrocious considering this team invented the modern “tanking” concept.  The Sixers lost their last game to the Atlanta Hawks 104 - 96…  despite 26 points, 13 rbs, and 2 asts from Center Joe Embiid…. Everyone else was silent… Everyone else was invisible.  If this team expects a James Harden return to save them from losing?... They have not been paying attention. They also have not been a safe bet from home as they are 2-4 in their clubhouse.

Utah Jazz VS Philadelphia 76ers Prediction

Our prediction for Sunday, November 13th is….  Jazz 116 - 76ers 102

Blowout alert***  Bet on the Jazz.  The Jazz have the type of roster that can play together and score big time.  The 76ers do not.  I do not care that Joel Embiid might be in the middle he can’t stop the Jazz scoring on his own… and without Harden the 76ers have been shooting blanks.

NBA Betting Trends

Utah is 28-21 ATS versus Philadelphia since 1996.
Utah is 3-1 ATS versus Philadelphia the last 3 seasons.

Players To Watch

Jazz: C Jarred Vanderbilt.  While the Jazz had Rudy Gobert at Center the last few seasons.. Bench player Jarred Vanderbilt has taken over without much drop-off..  He no longer has to care about finding minutes as a back-up Power Forward ... he is now the Jazz Center... his team is winning and his combined stats are pretty good..

76ers: SF Tobias Harris.  Tobias has been billed as “drastically overpaid” and he is… However he still has stats stuffing 2-way playing ability.  He needs to find a way to contribute to the win column and not the stats sheet.

Coaches

Jazz: Will “yeah I’m supposed to be here… you wanna ask my mom?” Hardy
76ers: Doc “I’m getting too old for this spit!” Rivers.
