An Eastern Conference matchup between teams that aren’t living up to the promise of their respective roster. The Philadelphia 76ers stink… but why?... They have a great roster based on numbers over the last 3 seasons. They are still getting massive production from the guys that matter.  What is Philly’s problem? Yes, they are near last in points… but is that a matter of who is shooting?... Yes they are near last in rebounds but is that a matter of who are rebounding?.  It’s a conundrum.  Could the Sixers be strategically tanking to get Victor Wembanyama? That doesn;t make sense considering that they have C Joel Embiid playing center and he is their best player.  It is a head scratcher.  The Chicago Bulls are bad… but that is obvious. The Bulls two problems are that PG Lonzo Ball never made it back from injury… and PF Patrick Williams did and it seems he is not ready.  Patrick Williams should be the first guy to go from NBA starter to the G-League in order to get seasoning.  He plays like he will lose and often he does. The team has to rely on SF DeMar DeRozan who is a year older and not likely to completely repeat his performance form last season.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been put through the ringer. Losing to the Boston Celtics, the Milwaukee Bucks, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Toronto Raptors.  3 of those teams are in direct competition for the top Eastern Conference spot.  Their lone win came against the Indiana Pacers.. Which is exactly nothing to brag about. For the Sixers C Joel Embiid still does everything like 27.6 points and 10 rebounds a game… It is Sg James Harden that is supposed to push the team over the top… and at 21.8 ppg and 9.6 assists… he seems to be doing it! The losing problem, given those numbers, are obviously a problem of SF Tobias Harris, PG Tyrese Maxey, and new PF PJ Tucker simply not working as a supporting cast.  If the top 2 players are getting 50+pts, 10+ rebounds, 10+ assists.. And you are losing?... The other 3 guys need to be rotated out. A horrible thought for the Sixers is that Embiid is currently working on a right knee injury… If that keeps up?... The Sixers won’t win very many games.

The Bulls are 20th in scoring with 111.2 points per game, 15th in rebounds with 44.6 per game, 15th in AST/TO ratio with 1.8, and 14th in blocks with 5.4 per game.

Yes the Sixers will win some too.  Even with the threat of Embiid taking it easy because of knee pain. The Sixers have had enough abuse and Doc Rivers will work the rotation through to see a win.

Sixers: PG Tyrese Maxey.  This guy threatened to be the third all-star from the Sixers… this season he is just pedestrian.  If he finds his stride again?... It will be a different Sixers story.

Bulls: C Nikola Vicevic.  Nikola is good at every aspect of the offensive game.  Sometimes it seems he has been overlooked while playing for bad teams… and sometimes it seems he is the reason his team is bad.  This guy needs to find a defensive backbone.
