PointsBet: Point Spread: Bucks -8.5, O/U 239.5
Fanduel: Point Spread: Bucks -8.5, O/U 239.5

Starting Five:

Bucks: SF Pat Connaughton, PF Giannis Antetokounmpo, C Brook Lopez, SG Grayson Allen, PG Jrue Holiday
Pacers: PF Aaron Nesmith, SF Buddy Hield, C Myles Turner, SG Chris Duarte, PG TJ McConnell

An Eastern Conference mismatch.  A bald faced mismatch.  The Bucks have one of the best players on the planet in his prime… The Pacers have one young promising superstar who will be watching in street clothes from the injury seats at the end of the bench.  The Bucks have big bodies playing Forward, Center etc.  The Pacers will be starting or playing 4 shooting guards next to their 6-11 Center.  The great betting opportunity in this game will be all about the Point Spread.  All about how many points you can stomach laying.

The Milwaukee Bucks have won 6 of their last 10 games… though they were missing Giannis for a couple of those losses.  They are on a 2-game winning streak since his return and they also just got back SF Khris Middleton who will play his way back into shape in limited minutes from the bench.  The Bucks at full strength is something Milwaukee has not seen all year… and they are firmly in 3rd place in the Conference.  In the last win they beat the Denver Nuggets 107-99… for a loss ATS. The Nuggets were playing without C Nikola Jokic and PG Jamal Murray which explains the enormous spread.  In the win Giannis had 33 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists. Connaughton had 19 points, Holiday had 20 points, and Middleton had 10 points off the bench in 14 minutes… All is getting right in Wisconsin.

The Indiana Pacers are sitting ducks at the moment.  They have only won 2 of their last 10 games. A big part of the problem is they have 7 SG’s on the roster and no legitimate Forwards.  Another huge problem is they are falling into the loss column way too late in the game to make “tanking” make sense for the rest of the year…. Detroit, Charlotte, and Orlando will have way more ping pong balls no matter what Indiana does the rest of the way through.  Their one saving grace may be the deadline… That is where they should be saying goodbye to SG Buddy Hield, SG Chris Duarte, SG Kendall Brown, and PG TJ McConnell… and all those extra picks they have on the books from the Sabonis trade.  They need forwards, forwards, and forwards…. They lost their last game to the Orlando Magic (which should sting) 126-120, also a loss ATS. C Myles Turner had 22 points, 13 rebounds… SF Buddy Hield (really a SG) had 21 points… and the clear #2 candidate for ROY SG Ben Mathurin had 26 points off the bench in 32 minutes of playing time.  Ben should be given consideration for both ROY… AND the Sixth Man Award… And the team needs to balance the roster in order to find out just how great Mathurin can be.  He has NEXT Donovan Mitchell written all over him.

Milwaukee Bucks VS Indiana Pacers Prediction

Our prediction for Friday, January 27th is…. Bucks 121 - Pacers 100

Bet on the Pacers and the blow out that is coming to Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse.  The spread may be a huge 12.5… but the Bucks should have that easy.  The Pacers routinely play multiple guys per set out of position.. This corrupts the defense.  The Pacers will also be missing Halliburton, Brown, Theis, and possibly Nembhard… 2 of those guys are wildly important to the Pacers success.

Don Best has the line at Bucks -7.5 on DraftKings… Make that bet before it swells.  But we will still update.

NBA Betting Trends

Milwaukee is 6-2 ATS over the last 3 seasons.
6 of 8 games in this series have gone OVER the last 3 seasons.

Players To Watch

Bucks: PF Giannis… Giannis needs no last name… also I can’t spell it until I see it.. Neither can you.  Giannis is just a fraction of the way away from being the best player in the league.  His body screams “The Joker will fall off long before I do!!”.  Is he and his body right?  No one will know until it happens.  Still Giannis is the best player on the court anytime he plays anyone who doesn’t have The Joker.

Pacers:  PG/SG Andrew Nemhard.  In last season’s draft the Pacers won it all by drafting Ben Mathurin as the SG of the future and that is great… but … The reason the Pacers won the draft is because later they grabbed Nembhard out of Gonzaga with an early 2nd round pick… he and Mathurin combine for the best draft return so far… two guys who make up the backcourt of the future in Indiana.  Too bad they already had 6 SG’s… They need trades for forward bodies more than anyone!  They also should slap themselves for letting PF Rui Hachimura go to the Lakers… when they could have had him for TJ McConnell (who they will not play) and the worst of their 3 1st round picks in the coming draft.

COACH

Bucks: Mike “remember my ring” Budenholzer
Rick: “My ring was longer ago” Carlisle
