An inter conference NBA matchup between teams that are supposed to be better.  Both teams have rosters that ARE supposed to be better.  The league is going through wholesale change this season where the old stars are barely performing to their level and the new stars are hitting new heights to their games.  Both teams have been radically affected.  The Miami Heat are a trade away from doing a full rebuild. The Heat have a losing record and they keep losing games… If they traded the roster now they could bottom out for the draft lottery while grabbing picks and players for the future,, let's say they gave Jimmy Butler to the Warriors for Kuminga, Wiseman, stuffer,  and picks (or Adebayo +)... (or whoever +?)… They would still have this year’s pick to possibly win the draft… a win for the Heat would be Wembemyama OR Scoot. They could immediately rebuild in Heat fashion.  No one will take Duncan Robinson because he can’t play defense.  The Minnesota Timberwolves have a full complement of GREAT players but no leadership.  The result is right in the middle of the Western Conference. Not great, but not bad… but terrine when you remember that they have 2 powerful Centers plus a great young shooting guard… If this does not win?... They will make wholesale changes too.

The Miami Heat have a losing record and full injury list.  They are on a 2-game losing streak.  They lost their last game to the Washington Wizards 107-106… which was a win ATS. Those are rare… The Heat are 4-12 ATS on the season. They have been a bad bet unless you have been betting the other way.  SF Jimmy Butler will miss multiple games (including this one) with knee soreness.  Jimmy is averaging 20.9 points per game and is the undisputed best player on the roster.  SG Tyler Herro is Out indefinitely with an ankle injury.  Center Bam Adebayo has missed two games with a left knee contusion… and it is “uncertain” if he will play Monday against the Timberwolves… folks, that does not leave much of a team.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on a 3-game winning streak and have risen to just .500 in the early season.  The T-Wolves are a perpetual mystery.  On paper they have an amazing roster!  SG Anthony Edwards is an athletic scoring juggernaut… PF Karl-Anthony Towns is the best shooting big man in the league… new addition C Rudy Gobert is a rebounding and shot blocking force in the paint… Then why can’t they win consistently? They have no one on the injury list.  They have quality complimentary players in SF Jaden McDaniels and PG D’Angelo Russell.  The reason all of this wealth is not a winning combination can be seen by simply watching them.  They have no teamwork.  All five guys in the starting five think they are the star of the team and none of them is exactly right.  They aren’t working together on defense and on offense it looks like 5 guys waiting for their turn to get the ball.  The Wolves need to trade PF Karl-Anthony Towns… He has been a losing team’s star for so long the finger MUST be pointed at him.  The recent 3-game winning streak follows a 3-game losing streak.  They are also not a safe bet as they are 6-10 ATS.

Miami Heat VS Minnesota Timberwolves Prediction

Our prediction for Monday, November 21st is…. T-Wolves 120 - Heat 98

The Heat are missing Jimmy Butler, Maybe Bam Adebayo, missing Tyler herro, missing Victor Oladipo,  Omer Yurtseven Out, possibly Dwayne Dedmon, Questionable Gabe Vincent, Questionable Duncan Robinson… They have NO ROSTER even if some of these guys do play… Take the easy win as the T-Wolves run over the Heat.  Bet on the Timberwolves…. The spread will be large but a blow out is the most logical outcome.

Players To Watch

Heat: PG Kyle Lowry.  Kyle is both old AND slowing down.  Good thing the Heat pay him such a large salary.

T-Wolves: PG D’Angelo Russell.  “Dang!” is a good player and often overlooked because of Edwards and Towns and now Gobert.  For this team to take it to the next level it should be “Dang!’s” mission to lead the league in assists. A team high 6.2 won’t do it… That number needs to be in double figures.  That needs to be his mission to make this roster work.

Heat: Erik “been there done that” Spoelstra
T-Wolves: Chris “never have I ever” Finch
