An inter-conference matchup between a rising sun in the West and a walking nightmare in the East.  The Los Angeles Clippers added two absolute all-stars 3 off-seasons ago in SF Kawhi Leonard and SG Paul George… They gave them MAX Contracts they were trying to build a basketball superpower.  They still haven’t gotten it… and one of the young players they dumped (Shai Gilgeous Alexander), along with 6 draft picks and “other pieces”, has turned into a top-ten player in this league.  Still the promise is there.  The Clippers could be great and the only thing that gas ever held this squad back from it… is health.  At the moment they are all playing and all healthy.  They could be great NOW… we will see.  The Brooklyn Nets are the walking nightmare for sure. 3 off seasons ago they added two absolute all-stars.  Both all-stars were exiting winning teams in PG Kyrie Irving and SF Kevin Durant.  The Nets had visions of building a basketball juggernaut that would swallow NBA Championships like pacman swallows those dots.  Health held them back to start out with,.. And then PG Kyrie Irving showed what we all already suspected… he is the worst teammate in professional basketball if not the worst person.. Though he might be that as well.  In comparison with the Clippers who devastated two teams by poaching their all-stars… the two teams that the Nets new stars left, Celtics and Warriors… actually played each other in last season’s finals.. While Irving and Durant pouted somewhere. We will never know what these Nets were capable of as they didn’t play together.. Kyrie is the center of the nightmare and Durant is injured.  The great betting opportunity here is in knowing that the Nets have an empty roster of quality role players that have been disappointed by the stars time and time again… while the Clippers are in full health finally.  

The Los Angeles Clippers have won 7 of their last 10 games. The resurrection of health for this roster has meant an upswing that has launched them from the middle of the West to 4th place and possibly rising still.  They won their last game against the New York Knicks 134-128 for a win ATS… It did take overtime but the Clippers got the “W”.  They got 35 points from SF Kawhi Leonard, 30 points from SG Paul George, and 24 points from super sub SF/SG Norman Powell.  This is the formula the Clippers have waited a full year through injuries to see in action. If these 3 guys, who all have missed HUGE chunks of time (especially Kawhi), stays on the floor together.  This may be the best roster in the NBA.

The Brooklyn Nets are a dumpster fire yet again.  SF Kevin Durant is out with injury and has a few weeks more to go,.. Positionless, shooting deficient Ben Simmons is Out with whatever, and the team has traded PG Kyrie Irving for pieces from Dallas who will not be available to suit up for another day or so.  The line should swell before game time… so get you bet in early.

The Nets role players are sitting ducks.  Not that they aren’t good but the changes have been so drastic and so sudden… and when taken in totality?... are too much to face a good team right now.

Terence isn’t a world beater and may never (will never) make an all-star team.  He is however young, skilled, and ready to hustle. Wind him up and watch him go.

Nets: PG Kyrie Irving. You can’t actually watch him… he has been dismissed from the team as the Nets try to fill a trade request that he made. You can watch his absence. You can watch the void he leaves on this team and try to remember how he left both the Cavs and the Celtics with the same headaches and hardships after being an awful teammate and pulling the plug on every basketball commitment he has ever made… Good luck to the next team!  The Nets will take back pennies on the dollar for someone of Kyrie’s talent… but they will be much better off without him. * Update, he has been traded to ruin the NBA franchise in Dallas **
