An inter-conference NBA matchup between the worst team in the league… and a very surprising middle of the road team in the West.  The Detroit Pistons have very little to offer the viewing public… Even hardcore Pistons fans can do much more than yawn while watching them in action. The only action the Pistons concern me with at all is the Gambling action… where they are very reliable… Thanks to the Lakers winning the other night, the Pistons are now officially the worst team in the league…. They have 3 wins in 17 tries… and they are 7-9-1 ATS on the season.. So when betting a Pistons game the thing to remember is THEY WILL LOSE (mostly)... the thing to look closely at is the spread coupled with the scoring average of the team they are playing. The Pistons lost a -13 point spread to the Celtics… but covered a 4.5 spread against the Raptors while losing both games. The Celtics score well and play amazing defense… The Raptors struggle in both categories… knowing this will help you recognize who is who as they beat the Pistons.  Of course you could bet against the Pistons on the moneyline?… but the return would not be very big since the outcome is expected….. The Sacramento Kings have just learned how to win… very recently and it has been sometimes amusing and sometimes fun to watch.  They have a Big Three of sorts with C Domantas Sabonis, PG De’Aaron Fox, and SG Terrance Davis… not household names or national product endorsers but effective players on the offensive end.  This team currently sits at 7th place in the West… joining the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers as pure Western Conference surprises. The Kings have been a joke for decades. They have missed on draft picks, they have lost trades, they have tried coach after coach… and the one constant has been missing the Playoffs.  This year may be different for them… and you can feel the excitement in the air in Sacramento.  It also is a bit comical that the team with the longest playoff drought would possibly miss the best Draft Lottery since the LeBron James Draft in 2003.  Still there is no better time for winning than today… no matter what they tell you about a slim chance at a player to be named later.

The Detroit Pistons are on a 6-game losing streak. A terrible display of rudderlessness.  The Pistons actual rudder, 2nd year PG Cade Cunningham, is out with injury… seeing as how Cade is the best player the team has and doesn’t really have much else?... Winning won’t happen unless the other team has a particularly bad night.  They lost their last game to the Los Angeles Lakers 128-121… And lost against a  +6 point point spread.  LA was the other bottom of the barrel team in the league… so it was a very important loss as it will eventually MORE PING PONG BALLS for Detroit… which is the clear reason they are even playing this season.  Also missing from the line-up is PF Isaiah Stewart… who often slides into the Center position.  The one positive the Pistons can take from this moment is Rookie big man (and teenager) Jalen Duran got 12 pts and 8 rebounds in 21 minutes against the Lakers… He looks very good for the minutes he averages.  The plan is for the Pistons to win the Draft Lottery?... add the big French kid (who is as amazing as advertised) and build around him, Cade, and Jalen… will it happen?

The Sacramento Kings are on a 5-game winning streak!  That is really a wonderful stretch for a franchise that has struggled so much over the years!  They beat the San Antonio Spurs in their last game 130-112.  PSSST… Oh and just between me and you they are 9-1 ATS during their last 10 games.  They fall into that really great category of a historically bad team that has suddenly improved!  DSetting a point spread for a team like that is tough cause all the metrics say the spread should be close… but the suddenly good team keeps knocking it out of the Park.  Get on this train BEFORE Vegas catches up.  In the win PG De’Aaron Fox had 28 pts, 8 asts. Bench player Malik Monk had 26 points, 4 rebs, and 2 asts in 28 minutes… Because of the comfortable lead all game Sabonis and Barnes were able to take it easy and sit down early after 16 pts, 8 rbs… each!

Detroit Pistons VS Sacramento Kings Prediction

Our prediction for Sunday, November 20th is…. Kings 126 - Pistons 104

The Kings are playing on the road without their starting Center and star Point Guard…. This is happening at exactly the same time that the Kings are rolling everyone they come up against… including Brooklyn, Golden State, and Cleveland.  Bet on the Kings… UNLESS you feel a double digit spread is too much to risk.  In this case?... I do not.

NBA Betting Trends

Detroit is 15-9 ATS versus Sacramento since 1996.
Detroit is 2-1 ATS versus Detroit the last 3 seasons.
Sacramento is 11-3 ATS when the total is greater than or equal to 220 this season.

Players To Watch

Pistons: C/PF Jalen Duran.  Rookie Jalen Duran is a future star in this league… He has all the skills and athleticism to get to a pretty high ceiling.  The Pistons work him in short bursts and for 20-30 minutes a night.  When he is old enough to buy a beer?.. He could be a 20-10 a night guy easily.

Kings: SF Kevin Huerter.  Kevin is a recent addition to the team, you may all remember seeing him last in an Atlanta Hawks uniform.  His purpose here is the same: To hit shots!... His weakness here is the same: not very good defensively .  If this team keeps winning and improving?… you may see Kevin lose his starting role and only hit the floor as a spot shooter.

Coaches

Pistons: Dwayne “I assume I’m still here” Casey
Kings: Mike “Forget the Lakers” Brown
