An NBA interconference battle of the Big Boys… An East VS West battle of the expected Title contender. Legends on each squad… oh and they are both playing terrible basketball with ragtag rosters… and the LEGENDS are missing games and pouting out of frustration. It’s a bizarre year… But Kevin Durant’s Brooklyn Nets is a headache-inducing portrait of dysfunction… While LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers are the pathetic ghost of a dream that was hatched by the league’s worst GM and most incompetent owner. (not the worst owner… Most incompetent owner… Jeannie is a lot of things but not a petulant scumbag like Robert Sarver in Phoenix or James Dolan in Manhattan). The Nets have been bad. They have 3 Max players and two of them are headcases so severe they actually hurt the team. The Lakers have been losing a lot… really they keep losing. The biggest Lakers fans in the World all reside in New Orleans, Louisiana… where the Lakers 1st round NBA draft pick is heading at the conclusion of the 2022-23 disaster of a season. Each Laker loss gets the Pelicans more ping pong balls toward pairing Victor Wembemyama with Zion Williamson! Holy Cow… That is a bad Laker’s reality!
The Brooklyn Nets are on a two-game win streak… and have won 4 of their last 5 games… Magically aligning with PG Kyrie Irving’s suspension for promoting anti-semitism. There are 32 NBA General managers that would love to have Kyrie Irving’s talent on their roster… However, there are 32 NBA GM’s that do not like his headaches and terrible personality (including his current GM). The team seems to have immediately begun playing better behind SF Kevin Durant once Kyrie was removed from them… The Nets can not turn to PF/PG Ben Simmons to fill the PG spot vacated by Kyrie either… Ben is going through some crisis of confidence or mental health… The once highly touted defender and assist man… simply has lost most of his game to a dark dungeon between his ears. The team also plays better without that Max Contract player on the floor. So the recipe is SF Kevin Durant leading the team and a bunch of role players having his back. That is all the Nets have… but it is quite a lot over the last 5 games. The Nets beat the Los Angeles Clippers 110 - 95 in an upset ATS in their last game. Kevin Durant had 27 points, 6 rbs, 3 asts… Seth Curry had 22 points in yet another really good shooting performance… and Ben Simmons only played 14 minutes off the bench for 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists… The Nets are hoping Ben can find his confidence by playing a few minutes a night… Hopefully he can… Then the Nets might be able to trade him. Kyrie will still be absent.
The Los Angeles Lakers keep on losing! They are on a 5-game losing streak! PF LeBron James missed last game as the Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings 120-114. In that game C Anthony Davis had 24 points, PG Russell Westbrook had 21 points, SG/SF Austin Reeves had 19 points and SG/SF Lonnie Walker IV had 19 points as the Lakers scored 6 points more than their scoring average without their best player…. They got the loss because they simply don’t or can’t play defense. Also without LeBron on the floor the team has no leadership whatsoever… who are they supposed to listen to Anthony Davis?... Patrick Beverley?... Maybe one of the half-dozen 2nd round picks, G-League call-ups, or young undrafted rookie free agents could take the lead? The Lakers are a mess… and they will face the Nets without Leading scorer and assist maker LeBron James.

Brooklyn Nets VS Los Angeles Lakers Prediction
Our prediction for Sunday, November 13th is…. Nets 120 - Lakers 109
Bet on the Nets. With LeBron not playing?… The Lakers are sitting ducks against anybody they play. KD will have a big night… Seth Curry will be the best shooter in the contest… and Nic Claxton is athletic enough to stay on AD’s hip on the defensive end.

Players To Watch
Nets: SF Kevin Durant. Kevin is still a top-three player in this league. The rumor mill is that he has already reiterated his previous trade request in private and will soon make his trade request public. The last thing the Nets need is further embarrassment. Lots of teams Could use him… but it would be tough for Kevin to get to a NOW contender without decimating that squad with the players and picks that would have to come back in return.
Lakers: SG Russell Westbrook. Everyone hates Russ… but why?... He is always available to play… He plays hard and hustles. He just can’t shoot. The guy never could. He has always had an attack the rim game. While LeBron is out… Russ should do just that.
Coaches
Nets: Jacques “I wonder what it’s like to coach grown-ups?” Vaughn
Lakers: Darvin “I wonder what it is like to have competent bosses?” Ham
