A Western Conference joke… and Vegas knows it.  The Sacramento Kings are winners, however strange that sounds after 18 seasons of being NBA doormats, they just are.  They are in 3rd place in the West.  They will have a home-court advantage playoff series. They have a great roster.  They have two solid stars and a deep bench.. And it only took them 18 years to build it all.  Their opponent is a bunch of guys wearing Portland Trail Blazers jerseys.  Let me make this clear.. They Portland Trail Blazers you see in this game will not be the actual Portland Trail Blazers.  The season is over.. They will not make the playoffs or play-in game… The only thing they have to play for is MORE ping pong balls in the NBA Draft Lottery.  That is what they are doing.  PG Damian Lilliard is OUT, SG Anfernee Simons is OUT, PF Jerami Grant is OUT, C Jusuf Nurkic is OUT.. everyone else is actually “auditioning” to stay on the roster next year.. Or be bundled into a trade or flat out waived.  The Blazers are 14 pint underdogs at home… and that is still generous.  The great betting opportunity here is obvious.

The Sacramento Kings have won 6 of their last 10 games.  They went 5-5 ATS during that stretch.  They won their last game against THESE SAME Portland Trail Blazers 120-80!!!  A 40 point route that featured Kings starters taking very early exits because of the HUGE blowout that was building!  No Kings Starter played more than 27 minutes.. And that was SF Harrison Barnes who was the only King having a bad shooting night and the coaches wanted to give him a chance to shoot his way out of it…. He didn’t do any harm.  13 Kings got game time and all but 1 scored.

The Portland Trail Blazers have won only 1 of their last 10 games… and they definitely DO NOT want to win again this season.  They went 3-7 ATS during that stretch and they were underdogs in every game.  They lost their last game against THESE SAME Sacramento Kings 120-80… a 40 points loss that was worse than it sounds.  In the loss they got 30 points from SG Shaedon Sharpe.. And stuck to a very short 7 man rotation… PF Nassir Little had 10 points, 2 rebounds, and ZERO assists in 40 minutes of play while playing the worst defense practically ever played.  The Blazers have no hope beyond the draft and even after that they will need a massive overhaul.

Bet on the Kings.  Yes, a 14 point spread would normally immediately be worth betting on the underdog… but not here.  Not when the losing team is playing the winning team AGAIN and the only changes they are making is to subtract even more players?!!  Bet on the Kings.

Kings: SF Harrison Barnes.  Harrison is the veteran of the Kings unit that needs to lead the team in the locker room because of his experience winning a championship with the Warriors.. But it is starting to feel like he is the guy the Kings should be replacing no matter what happens this postseason. Improve this spot… on this roster?... And the Kings are Finals contenders next season.

Blazers: SF Cam Reddish… after several DNPs in a row Cam is starting to look very silly.  When he played… he was awful… when he played for the Knicks he was bad… when he played for Atlanta he was doubtful.  It is getting worse.  This former High School 5 star recruit.. Expected to take the league by storm.. And did a 1 and done season at Duke… is about to be shown the door.  Maybe someone will give him a 1 year look again… But it is over… and he should be headed to Europe.
