A Western Conference NBA mismatch. But it isn’t about the win… It’s about the points spread.  The Memphis Grizzlies, for all their struggles, are the West’s 3rd place team.  They have a solid shot to do some real damage in the postseason when they get PG Ja Morant back from his 8 game exile for waving a gun on instagram while shirtless at 5 AM in a Denver area strip club… They also will need the return of C Stephen Adams.  But that is the postseason… in a matchup with the “tanking” and woeful Spurs the Grizzlies will still have the better player at 4 of the 5 starting positions on the floor.  The San Antonio Spurs are terrible.  They are 14th in the West and will seriously contend to drop to 15th if the Rockets screw up and win another game (like they just did over the Lakers).  The Spurs have a couple of good young pieces on their roster and that is literally it.. After SF Keldon Johnson and PF Jeremy Sochan.. Everyone else is entirely dispensable.  The Spurs game plan at the moment starts and ends with trying to win the upcoming NBA Draft Lottery… or at least place top-three.  Then the rebuild moves to a higher gear.  The great betting opportunity here is found in dismissing the Grizzlies troubles and deciding whether or not the remaining players will cover an 8.5 spread?

The Memphis Grizzlies have won 6 of their last 10 games.  They went 6-4 ATS during that stretch.  They have gone 3-3 since PG Ja Morant was sent into the exile of round the clock Reike treatments and relaxation exercises.  They lost their last game to the Miami Heat 138-119.  The Grizz must be struggling because the Heat rarely ever score that many points in a game even against bad teams.  In the loss the Grizz got 25 points from PF Jaren Jackson JR… and terrible shooting from Desmond Bane, Tyus Jones, and Dillon Brooks.

The San Antonio Spurs have won 4 of their last 10 games.  Which is a lot of wins in a ten game span for the Spurs… They have only won 18 out of 69 games so far!  They won their last game against the Dallas Mavericks (which gave the young Rockets permission to try against the Lakers the next night) 137-128. In the win SF Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 27 points & 8 rebounds… He was one of 7 Spurs that scored in double figures.
