A Western Conference battle with an amazon prize in the waiting.  If the Grizzlies win they will show that they can survive for a bit without the current dumbest guy in the league… Ja Morant.  He…  of strip club, gun flashing at 5 AM in the morning… seems desperate to trade in his Mega earning potential for street cred with guys who will never earn anything other than prison sentences… Sad. I do not understand the culture.  Everything I had heard about Ja Morant was that he had a great father who built a court in his backyard to keep Ja at home and out of trouble… What the hell happened to that father?… What the hell happened to such a privileged and loved kid?  The Lakers have a lot more to win… In 11th place and with PF LeBron James on the shelf… They have a chance with a win tonight to jump 2 spots up and land in 9th place in the Western Conference. That is a big deal since they were mired in 13th place just 6 games ago.  The great betting opportunity here is in the point spread… not the drama.  We want to win money.. And don’t particularly care if Ja or Lebron were ever to play again.

The Memphis Grizzlies have won 6 of their last 10 games… going 6-4 ATS during that stretch. They will be missing PG Ja Morant for an extended period of time as he reloads his guns… until his return they may benefit from the addition by subtraction effect.  They won their last game against the Los Angeles Clippers 135-129.  In the win they got 30 points from Sg Desmond Bane and 25 points from PG Tyus Jones… Plus a gritty 24 points from PF Jaren Jackson Jr.  Any combination of that… will get a win again.

The Los Angeles Lakers have won 6 of their last 10 games and are simply not embarrassing themselves with LeBron on the injury list. The recent trades at the deadline should be seen as charity from the rest of the league since the Lakers are functional at the moment.  They won their last game against the Golden State Warriors 113 -105.  They got 39 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists from C Anthony Davis… will his knees hold up?... They also had 5 other Lakers score in double figures while missing LeBron and De’Angelo Russell.

Lakers:  SF/SG Austin Reeves. Austin was undrafted, but has spent the last couple of seasons purely balling out for the Lakers.  The Lakers have not been great during that time… but Austin has.  He has bought himself a decade in this league.  Hopefully he always keeps this energy up.
