A Western Conference battle of the best backcourt of the last decade and the future best backcourt for the next decade.  The rest of each squad is not entirely even as the Warriors have an advantage in talent… But the fun of this game will be found in each pair of guards going head to head.  The Golden State Warriors had a bad start to the season and for a long while they were on the outside looking in at the Playoff picture.. Not any more.  The Warriors are having a better second half of the season and have risen all the way to 5th place in the Western Conference standings… proving that you should never write off the defending champs.  The Thunder are toiling near the bottom of the conference and they very much want to stay there… The NBA draft lottery may bring them sunshine… Their particular wish list starts at Victor Wembanyama, Brandon Miller, and as a last resort Jace Walker… why?  Cause they have the guards!  They do not need Scoot or Amen (though they would love to get and trade either of those guys)... Plus whoever they add will be joining the debut of Chet Holmgren next season… So, the Warriors need to get these Thunder wins now before it gets much more difficult.  The great betting opportunity here is found entirely in the small points spread… Can the Thunder cover?

The Golden State Warriors have won 6 of their last 10 games… 90% of those games they played without superstar Stephen Curry.  They went 6-4 ATS during that stretch.  They lost their last game to the Los Angeles Lakers 113-105. In the loss they got 27 points & 6 assists from the very not rusty PG Steph Curry, 22 points from SG Klay Thompson, and 15,8,3 from PF Draymond Green… That is normally a solid formula for Warriors wins… BUT they do need a little more from the supporting cast than they got.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have won only 4 of their last 10 games, but are on a 2-game winning streak.  They went 4-5-1 ATS during that stretch.  They won their last game against the Utah Jazz 129-119 (actually they won their last 2 against the Jazz in a back to back).  In the win they got 38 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists from PG Shai Gilgeous Alexander (a top-ten in the league player), 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists from SG Josh Giddey, and a fiery 32 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists from PF Jalen Williams (who is really a SG playing power forward).  The Thunder feast on other teams when the backcourt gets this kind of production.

NBA Betting Trends

The Warriors are 3-11 ATS as a road favorite this season.
The Warriors are 8-22 ATS on the road this season.
The Thunder are 10-2 ATS when playing 6 games in 10 days this season.

Players To Watch

Warriors:  PF Draymond Green.  Draymond is not to be taken lightly just because he doesn’t score a lot.  He stuffs the stat sheet with rebounds and assists… and he plays great defense despite having slowed a step over the years.  The team has to try to get this guy to take a MUCH LESSER contract in order to keep this group together… But for now… We still have a Warriors Big Three.

Thunder:  SG Josh Giddey.  Josh struggled for a few games while Shai Gilgeous Alexander was out with injury… but make no mistake… When Shai is in the game this multi-talented BIG guard can cut up any opponent.  He is a Robin without a doubt.  2nd best player and will contribute anytime Batman needs him.

COACH

Warriors: Steve “lord of the rings” Kerr

Thunder: Mark “no nickname” Daigenault
