An Eastern Conference matchup of contrasting styles between winning teams… means fun, fun, fun.  This is a game designed for pure fun.  Will the Atlanta Hawks superior shooting dismantle the Bucks defense… Or will the Bucks amazing MVP candidate use the superior post game to completely trample the Hawks?... It’s a real debate.  This is a shooting league… Yet the top MVP candidates are C Nikola Jokic, PF Giannis Antekounmpo, and PG Ja Morant… all of whom crash the paint and score up close?.... The Warriors have proven over and over again that shooting wins… The Hawks are trying to build that in Atlanta… Giannis has proven over and over again that no one can stop him at the rim or in the lane, he has a ring to prove it!  This game will break one way or the other… Let’s check the numbers and make a Great Betting Opportunity out of all this fun!

The Atlanta Hawks are winning.  Their big move over the off-season was to add all-star PG Dejounte Murray from the Spurs in order to play him alongside great shooter and all-star Trea Young.  So far it is going gangbusters. Atlanta is 3-1 but it may all be smoke and mirrors… They are only 1-3 ATS… and their wins have come off the cellar floor of the NBA… They have beaten the Houston Rockets, the Orlando Magic, and the Detroit Pistons.  All three of those victims are dreaming of 7’4 French teenager Victo Wembanyama. The lone loss for the Hawks came against the Charlotte Hornets.. Not exactly the cream of the crop.  Offensively the Hawks are just average… their best stat is AST/TO ratio where they are 5th in the league… That makes sense since they start TWO all-star point guards.  Still we are not sure how the Hawks will hold up against pressure?... Real pressure of a good team.

The Milwaukee Bucks are winning.  Their big move over the offseason was not much… They have Giannis and therefore can let guys walk and cinch up the rotation to get more Giannis touches. These guys have no worries about NBA drafts because they already have a TRANSFORMATIVE PLAYER… and the Bucks only job is to contend for a ring… every year. The best way to stop the Bucks is….????  How does anyone stop Giannis?  Giannis is so good the league actually has no idea how good the players around Giannis are.  The Bucks have low offensive numbers… high rebound numbers… and the highest defensive numbers.  Oh and Giannis has poured in 36 points a game with 13 rebounds!  Yea, they have Jrue Holiday, yes they have Grayson Allen, yes they have Brook Lopez… but those guys have an easier path to production with the entire opposite team focused on Giannis.

Atlanta is 18th in scoring with 113 points per game, 18th in rebounds with 43.8 per game, 5th in AST/TO ratio with 2.0, and 5th in blocked shots with 7.0 per game.  Atlanta is wreaking havoc in the paint with blocked shots… They are handling the ball better than most… but to beat the Bucks they will have to hit 3-pointers like no one’s business.

Milwaukee is 24th in scoring with 108.3 points per game, 3rd in rebounds with 49.7 per game, 24th in AST/TO ratio with 1.5, and 1st in blocked shots with 9.3.  The Bucks are very low in scoring but very high in defense… They also have an all-star that chews up possessions and time off the clock.  Last season the #1 offensive team in the NBA was the Charlotte Hornets and they missed the Play-In game by 2 spots in the standings… Defense ultimately wins.. Plus some scoring.
