Missouri State finished last season with a 7-6 record overall and they had a 5-3 record in their conference games too.  They were 3-3 in their home games, 4-2 in their road games, and they were also 0-1 in their neutral site games last season, but they will be on the road for this season opener. Last season, their offense was averaging 25.6 points scored per game while their defense was allowing an average of 28.8 points per game. Their offense also averaged 392.2 yards per game while their defense was allowing an average of 382.8 yards per game. They are returning their starting QB and did lose some talent on offense, but they will be looking to improve this year and build on that great season. Elko has done wonders with this program since taking over and the defense can't be as bad as they were last season with the talent they have. Meanwhile, Missouri State is coming off a good season going 7-6 and they had a solid team for it being their 1st year making the jump to FBS. Now they are entering their 2nd season in FBS, but they have a new head coach now and are in a bit of a rebuild. There is a lot of new faces on this team this year and they don't have the talent to compete with a team like Texas A&M. Texas A&M will be entering this season with a chip on their shoulder after the way things ended for them last year, so look for them to come out strong and make a statement against this lesser opponent. The best way to place a bet here is on Texas A&M to cover the spread in this game.
