Twins vs Mariners Prediction

The current betting odds have the Twins listed as a slight underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Twins haven't been great this season as they are just barely over .500 on the year and have been struggling to stay above .500, but they still have the lead of the AL Central and will be looking to hold onto it. The Mariners have been struggling all season as a team, they were starting to get hot going into the All-Star break but they have cooled off once again, playing really poorly since coming back from the break as they lost their home series to the Tigers. Their offense has also been struggling all season and even though they have Woo starting who has been a solid starter for them this season, he still hasn't been great in every start and is only in his rookie season as he is still trying to figure things out. The Twins have been playing a lot better since coming out of the break and their offense put up a ton of runs in their series over the weekend which was on the road. They are going to carry that momentum into this series and will be able to put up runs on Woo in this game. Meanwhile, the Twins have Ober starting here and he has been lights out in a majority of his starts this season. Ober hasn't been giving up many runs lately and he will not give up many runs when the Mariners offense has been so bad all year and was also terrible in their series over the weekend. The best way to place a bet here is on the Twins to win this game.

Notable Quotes

“We’re not a one-dimensional group but we have to prove that we’re not a one-dimensional group. Showing it in these three games, that’s what we saw. Our hitters plugged away, took a lot of tough pitches. We were on base a lot this series. We did a little bit of everything. It's a nice way to start the second half, is what it is.” - Rocco Baldelli after his team’s win against the A’s in their game on Sunday.

“We needed to win the ballgame today. Again offensively, it was not pretty today by any means.” - Scott Servais after his team’s win against the Tigers in their game on Sunday.
