Season Record

Timberwolves: 3-5, 11th place, Western Conference
Grizzlies: 5-4, 5th place, Western Conference

A Western Conference matchup that is guaranteed to go unnoticed by most NBA fans.  The Timberwolves are still the Timberwolves and would need 2 wins in a row to get to .500, it’s not likely they get them.  The T-wolves are coming off of 4 straight losses. The Memphis Grizzlies are in splendid form so far this season… they are 1 game above .500!   Both of these teams will have to find an NBA season where they finally do some real winning.  Until then we can just use them for  quick easy money.

Timberwolves vs Grizzlies Preview and Analysis.

RECENT FORM
Minnesota started the season hot, winning 3 of 4… of course two of those wins were against the lousy New Orleans Pelicans.  Since they are tumbling down the rabbit hole of mediocrity.  The last loss was Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota got off to a nice early lead and the Clips made up the double-digits deficit and went even further to land a 20-point lead and cruise to an easy victory. Minnesota’s offense has failed to hit 100 points in 4 games.  The Wolves are 2-6 ATS and they have played at home in the Target Center a lot!  They are 2-5 at home and 1-0 on the road.

The Grizzlies are overwhelming favorites.. Ja Morant and the rest of his teammates are really looking like a cohesive squad.  Sure, they lost their previous outing to the Washington Wizards and it was their biggest loss of the season… but that was a fluke.  SG Dillon Brooks is out with injury at the worst possible time because these players are building a real pecking order behind Ja.  Memphis is 6-3 ATS having logged 4 Overs and 5 Unders. They are 3-1 at home.

Offensive Analysis

Memphis is 15th in points and 13th in rebounds.  A nice middle of the pack team with an emerging star in Ja Morant and a PF in Jaren Jackson Jr who is reminding everyone who he was before he missed time to injury last season.

The Timberwolves are 24th in points and 22nd in rebounds… KAT is clearly their best player as they are #2 in offensive rebounds… a stat that used to make winners.

(whenever you find a bad team where 1 player dominates seemingly every stat line… that team should trade that player.  KAT is either being held back by the Wolves or the Wolves are being held back by KAT… It has now been several seasons that Minnesota has not been able to find anyone to play well alongside Karl-Anthony Towns.  Get some picks and players and move on.)

Steals Ja Morant 1.7
Blocks: Jaren Jackson JR 1.8

Coaches
Minn:  Chris Finch.  The play is very high because the work is thankless and headache inducing.   You must spend every season fixing yet another young wolves shot… or begging them to pass the ball… or begging them to forget last season and whoever that coach was.

Mem: Taylor Jenkins.  Taylor has a key player on his roster in Ja Morant.
