AN NBA Playoffs Western Conference Game 2. The Grizzlies famously lost Game 1. It could be chalked up to anything…. Maybe they overlooked the Timberwolves?... Maybe they had a hard time working All-Star PG Ja Moarnt back into the starting lineup after going without him for 12 games?... Or maybe the Timberwolves are as good as advertised since January. The Timberwolves are stacked if you didn;t notice… They have a legit top-five Center, they have long athletic young bodies coming off the bench, they have SF Anthony Edwards “Mr Confidence” playing at he level you would expect out of a 2nd year #1 overall pick in the draft, they have an assortment of guards that can score and not think twice…. And they have PG Patrick Beverley. Mr Beverley isn’t a giant killer on his own… but in the context of team play Patrick Beverley plays shut down defense and gets into everyone’s head… from the opponents feeling frustration and fear… to his own teammates feeling they have a bulldog watching their backs! Wow, that is a surprisingly good team after years of not being. The Memphis Grizzlies have already proven they can beat anyone. They stubbed their toe in Game 1 and metaphorically lost the home court advantage… But the Grizzlies are winners and they just got the best Young Player in the league back from injury. The Grizzlies found when Ja Morant was out that they are ridiculously deep! They have stars that aren;’t even stars yet in SG Desmond Bane and SF Dillon Brooks. They should win this series. All they have to do is focus on defense and let the offense unfold as they play. That is why Vegas is still deeply in the Grizzlies camp.
The Timberwolves won Game 1 of the matchup. They took home court advantage from the Grizzlies and they won ATS 130-117. They have a psychological advantage.. And if they get Game 2 they will win the series. The story of the game is simple. SF Anthony Edwards had 36 points in his playoff debut… he will have many more games like these in his career, he is that good. C Karl-Anthony Towns had 29 points and 13 rebounds against the Grizzlies. The Wolves pushed the Grizzlies often and early until the Grizzlies' Big Men were all in foul trouble. T-Wolves sharpshooter SG Malik Beasley rained 23 points from 8-14 shooting from the field. The Grizzlies had no response. Vegas didn’t pick up faith for the T-Wolves and that is exactly as Anthony Edwards likes it!
The Grizzlies lost Game 1 and lost ATS. They suffered from trying too much. In game 1 of the playoffs the Grizzlies re-inserted Jas Morant to the starting lineup after the team had gone 10 of 12 without him. That was a giant mistake by Coach Taylor Jenkins. Over in San Francisco, PG Steph Curry came off the bench to work his way back to the team… and in response Jordan Poole did all the scoring. The Grizzlies should have given the same respect to SG Desmond Bane who carried the team while Ja Morant was out. In no way does that mean Ja Morant or Steph Curry aren’t the best players on their teams… It simply means that Taylor Jenkins forgot to respect a streak….Eventually when you forget to respect a streak Kevin Costner shows up and “gets it” with your girlfriend. For the Grizzlies, PF Jaren Jackson JR and C Steven Adams had terrible games at the same time… that will not happen again. Statistically that simply will not happen again.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Memphis Grizzlies Game Prediction
Our prediction for Tuesday, April 19th is….. Grizzlies 132 - Timberwolves 122
The Grizzlies will get the win and the win ATS. The numbers all say that the first game was a fluke for the Timberwolves. The Grizzlies are good enough to run it back and get reset for the rest of the playoffs. Plus Desmond Bane and Ja Morant need a serious coming together.. Both have the personalities to have done it already behind the scenes.
