Bulls: 45-33, 6th place Eastern Conference

An Nba Eatsern Conference matchup between playoff bound teams.  One city has the best brats the other city has the best hot dogs… the teams play that way.  Substance vs style.  The Milwaukkle Bucks are no secret, they have the best player in basketball in Gianni Antetokounmpo… does that mean Giannis will win the MVP?  No, LeBron missed 3 MVP’;s he should have had and MJ missed 3 MVP’s he should have had.  Giannis is just the best player in basketball because he drags his team to wins… in fact all the way to the Championship last season!  He has what is billed as a Big Three with Giannis, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middelton… but c’mon… we all know Giannis is 80% of that Big Three.  The Bucks go as Giannis goes.  The Bucks go very well.  The Chicago Bulls are a team.  They don’t have a Giannis but they do have DeMar DeRozan who is a sort of a phony Giannis.  DeMar leads his team in points, DeMar has lots of help in the depth of his roster. DeMar does not win as much as Giannis.

The Milwaukee Bucks have won 6 of their last ten games.  They went 6-4 ATs during that stretch.  The teams they lost to were the Los Angeles Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Golden State Warriors… meaning they have lost to good teams having good nights.  Their last loss to the Clippers was not the sort of thing we can count on this ledger.. The Bucks chose that game to sit their top 5 players, especially Giannis, to maintain health and rest going into the playoffs.  They had to sit back and watch as Clippers PF Robert Covington had a 43 point game… it was the silliest thing you ever did see.  The game before that was an overtime win against the Brooklyn Nets… that was more like it… They won 120-119 in a squeaker!  Giannis had 44 points in that game with 14 rebounds and 6 assists.  Giannis is the best the game has to offer.  He shows it every time he beats a team like Brooklyn that has Kevin Durant getting 26 and Kyrie Irving getting 25… and Giannis just plows right past them.

The Chicago Bulls have won only 4 of their last ten games.  They have been on a severe dip since New Year’s when they surrendered 1st place to the Miami Heat and have been drooping all the way to 6th place in the east since.  The problem has been injuries… but also as Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams.. Etc have made their way back from injury the wins have not returned… They may be rusty or shaken… but the missing piece is still PG Lonzo Ball.  Lonzo has been out with a knee injury after energizing this crew with his game since arriving from New Orleans in the off season.  His replacement is rookie 2nd round pick Ayo Dosunmu… Ayo has played well but it seems to be over.  Ayo has hit the rookie wall and the Bulls for whatever reason refuse to change the approach. Ayo was -10 +/- in the Bulls last game, a loss to the Miami Heat.  Leading scorer DeMar DeRozan does a lot for this team as does leading rebounder Nikola Vucevic… but they are both recent additions to the squad.  The job of pulling the coach aside and telling him to ditch Ayo in the line-up falls on SG Zach LaVine… and as of yet.. No word on Zach’s leadership ability.
