Sunday is the last chance to bet baseball for a few days with the All-Star break coming.  Of course you could bet on the All-Star game… we will have predictions for the All-Star game…. But day in, day out, ol’ reliable baseball betting will have a 3 day break.  It’s a good time to take stock in how you have been doing this season (you are keeping track right?)... Are you doing as well as BigAl.com handicapper Amadeus Mastrangelo who is 29-13-1 over the last 60 days in MLB  for a profit of $13, 990?.... Or as well as Larry Ness who is 46-27 over the last 30 days in MLB for a profit of $16,060?...  Maybe when we get back from break if you want to dominate your book?… you should pick a few handicappers to follow along with.  The Brewers and Giants will be playing Game 3 of their series Sunday evening.  The Brewers won Game 1, 3-2, on Friday (with a Saturday Game 2 yet to play)... Let’s check the numbers and get a solid win on Game 3 to go into break with.

A National League matchup between the best of the junky NL Central division and the 3rd best of the supreme NL West division. Are they equal…no.  The Brewers are playing much better than the Giants. The Brewers are a game away from having won 50 games.  The Giants are 6 games away from having won 50 games.  Neither are on pace to break 100 wins.  Neither are on pace to become world beaters.  Neither team instills a measure of confidence about the postseason.  Neither are my pick to do anything late.  So what do we have?... We have a pitching matchup and a chance to win a bet with a soft and easy moneyline.  Let’s check the numbers and win that bet.

The Milwaukee Brewers have won 5 of their last 10 games.  Going .500 over a stretch isn’t bad and it ain’t great. 6 Unders and 4 Overs.  They went 1-0 against the Minnesota Twins, 1-2 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, 1-2 against the Chicago Cubs, and 2-1 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  They have had a steady diet of the awful Pittsburgh Pirates… and they still could not break .500 during the stretch.  Ouch!  Right Fielder Christain Yelich is on the injury list… He is a big deal kinda… Team Home Run leader Willy Adames and team batting average leader Mike Brosseau are a good foundation for an offense and that has kept the Brewers just inside the top-ten runs per game… The pitchers unfortunately have left them just outside of the top-ten in ERA.  One will have to break the other direction to get consistent winning.

The San Francisco Giants have won 4 of their last 10 games.  They are really struggling.  They will not live up to the promise of last season when they finished with 107 wins… in fact they won’t finish with near that.  The simple truth is they don’t have the same top end players… they have several key players taking turns on the injury list… and the amazing teamwork of last season is nowhere to be found.  They went 1-1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks (with one left to play tonight), 2-2 against the San Diego Padres (a finish that only benefited the Los Angeles Dodgers), 1-2 against the Arizona Diamondbacks again, and 0-1 against the Chicago White Sox.

Amadeus Mastrangelo is 13-3-0 in the last 7 days of MLB picks for a profit of +$9,380!! Go Get 'em!! Get Amadeus Mastrangelo’s picks!!….  If that is the new guy?.. Milwaukee Brewers vs San Francisco Giants Prediction

Our prediction for Friday July 15th is… Brewers 5 - Giants 2

DraftKings opened this line with the Giants heavily favored.  We are definitely betting the other way.  They seem to rate the pitching matchup as “very favorable” to the Giants and the betting trends also skew toward San Francisco in home games at the end of a series, in July, blah, blah… but it does not take into account that those numbers are skewed by a 107 win season last year.  Last season the Giants beat everybody.  This season the Giants are collapsing for sure.  The Giants are not playing team ball like they used to.  Before the line moves… Get a bet in on the Brewers, take the favorable moneyline payout, and thank me later.

MLB Betting Trends

The Brewers are 92-72 in all road games the last 3 seasons.
The Giants are 68-45 when the moneyline is -100 to -150 the last 3 seasons.

Players to Watch

Brewers: RHP, Jason Alexander, 4.73 ERA, 18 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched.  1.68 WHIP.  Jason has only 40 innings under his MLB belt… which is why you should expect him to be pulled at the first sight of trouble… The sample size that compiled his numbers are so small that they are meaningless.  The Brewers have faith in him and plans for his future.

Giants: RHP Logan Webb, 8-3, 2.82 ERA, 96 strikeouts in 111.2 innings pitched, 1.11 WHIP.  Logan is a young guy with a bright future and a winning record.  Still he is susceptible to the Brewers line-up.

Managers

Brewers: Craig “not Matthew Modine” Counsell
Giants: Gabe “keep shaping those eyebrows” Kapler
