Michigan vs Iowa Prediction

The current betting odds have Michigan listed as an 11 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Michigan just won their 1st conference game last week with a win at home to Maryland but they didn't look great in that game. They are getting their 1st road tests here with one of the best defenses in the Big Ten now in Iowa. Iowa has looked really good on defense in their games since they haven't been giving up many points at all, but they also haven't played a very strong team either yet. Their strongest opponent so far was Iowa State and that is their only loss this year so far. Michigan is one of the best teams in the country and they aren't going to be happy about the way they played at home last week to beat Maryland. Maryland had an offense that could keep up with Michigan but Iowa has a very bad offense that hasn't done much in their 4 games. Iowa relies a lot on their defense to win games and even though they are very good, they will only hold down the Michigan offense for so long before they break free and start to score. Once Michigan starts to score points it will be hard for Iowa to come back since they aren't built to come back from behind. The best way to place a bet here is on Michigan to cover the spread here.

Notable Quotes

"We knew very well he can handle that. This isn't something he just goes out and does. It's a seven-day-a-week, year-round thing for him, to train himself to be in a position to do what he does." - Jim Harbaugh after his team’s win against Maryland in their last game.

"That's pretty impressive, so clearly the guys are playing at a high level right now doing a good job. And the two defensive touchdowns, it did feel a little bit like the Indiana game (September 2021) because that's the last time we did that too, so lots to be pleased about there." - Kirk Ferentz after his team’s win against Rutgers in their last game.
