Miami-OH vs Kentucky Prediction

The current betting odds have Kentucky listed as a 16 point favorite in this game. Kentucky had a very nice year last season as they finished 10-3 overall and they will be looking to take another step this season, trying to compete with the best in their conference. They did lose some of their offensive production from last season like their leading rusher and their leading receiver, but they still have their QB Will Levis who played well for the team last season and is comfortable playing in this system. Miami-OH is in a similar situation as they have their starting QB from last season returning but not their leading rusher or receiver, along with a few other offensive players. They also finished 7-6 overall and do not play in a conference as tough as Kentucky does. Kentucky has a much better program that has been building their team for years now and they have always had a great defense, but now their offense is starting to catch up with them. They were great in their home games as well while Miami-OH struggled to win games on the road. Kentucky has an offense that put up points last year and they should improve even more this year with Levis under center. They also have a defense that will be able to stop Miami-OH here and Kentucky should come away with a comfortable win at home. The best way to place a bet here is on Kentucky to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“Yeah, obviously we're super excited for the season to start. And then the opening game you get to play an SEC team, which we have not done since we lost the Mississippi State back in 2016. So we've only played one SEC team since I've been here. So the opportunity to play an SEC team on Saturday night on the road is quite an opportunity. It'll be thrilling for everybody involved. Coaches, players and fans. I know the kids are excited. Our preparation has been really good. We know the task ahead of us. They're really good team." - Chuck Martin on his team starting the season with Kentucky.

“It does seem like a long time ago, but grateful. A much different team. (You) just try to stay in the moment, stay in our normal routine, and get the team ready to play.” - Mark Stoops on getting ready for their first game of the season here.
