Marlins vs Rangers Prediction

The current betting odds have the Marlins listed as an underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Marlins haven't been great lately as they have been slipping down the standings in the NL East but they have still had a really good pitching staff all season that doesn't give up many runs and they will be looking to bounce back in this series since the Rangers also haven't been great in their games lately as they are also starting to slip from the pressure of the Astros being right on their trail. The Rangers do have one of the best offenses in the MLB this year but their pitching has been terrible and the Marlins can definitely take advantage of that since their offense hasn't been that bad lately. The Marlins also have Luzardo starting here and he has been one of their best starters in the rotation all season since he doesn't give up many runs in any of his starts. He did give up 4 runs in his last start but that hasn't been a common theme for him this year and he will be looking to bounce back in this start. The Rangers also have Montgomery on the mound here who is making his 1st start for the Rangers but he hasn't been great this season and has been giving up more runs in his starts lately. The Rangers also have a terrible bullpen and have done nothing to fix that by bringing in a lot of starters at the trade deadline so as good as their offense has been, they are still going to give up a ton of runs in this game and the Marlins can lean on the good performance of Luzardo along with the rest of the pitching staff to win this one. The best way to place a bet here is on the Marlins to win this game.

Notable Quotes

“Fight is exactly how I would describe it. Really good job battling back-and-forth and that is not easy in these extra inning games with guys starting on second base and all kind of different scenarios which can happen. To walk it off like that, it was a really good, needed win.” - Skip Schumaker after his team’s win against the Phillies in their game on Wednesday.

“Takes one day of live BP, says he’s good to go and first at-bat ... really, really incredible.” - Bruce Bochy after his team’s win against the White Sox in their game on Wednesday.
