Miami vs Ohio State Prediction

The current betting odds have Ohio State listed as a 9.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Ohio State has looked great in their games this season with their 12-1 record overall and their 9-0 conference record which had them right near the top of the Big Ten. They have only played in 1 neutral site game this season and they are 0-1. Meanwhile, Miami has looked great in their games this season with their 11-2 record overall and their 6-2 conference record which had them right near the top of the ACC. They haven't played in any neutral site games this season so this will be their first, playing in the Cotton Bowl for the 2nd round of the CFP. Miami had some slip ups during the regular season and didn't even make it to the ACC Championship, but they were still the best team in the ACC this season by far and they earned an at-large bid. They are off a 10-3 win over Texas A&M in their last one and their defense looked great in that road win, but their offense struggled a lot. They couldn't do a lot on offense for most of that game and Texas A&M didn't have a great defense all season either. Texas A&M also got by in the SEC playing a lot of the teams at the bottom, but Ohio State is truly one of the best teams in the nation. Ohio State is off a 13-10 loss to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship, but this happened to them last season as they lost their regular season finale to Michigan and then went on to win the National Championship. That loss is only going to motivate them more in this game, and Miami just doesn't have the talent at key positions like Ohio State has. The best way to place a bet here is on Ohio State to cover the spread in this game.

Miami Ohio State Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Wednesday, December 31, 2025 (7:30 pm ET start time) is Ohio State 31 Miami 10.

Notable Quotes

“Just found a way to continue to keep pushing through some difficult situations. The defense was off the charts the entire day. We found ourselves finally running the football and getting some chunk yardage. It took a while. We were up and down on offense. Just a great response, turned the ball over, both by the defense, getting the ball back, and the offense going right down the field and scoring.” - Mario Cristobal after his team’s win against Texas A&M in the 1st round of the CFP.

"It's such a strange calendar and the timing is brutal, but he's handled it really well. As we move forward, he's coaching the receivers. It's a lot on his plate to manage. We're kind of taking it day to day. Going into the game, it'll be a group effort. (Tight ends coach) Keenan (Bailey) will be very much involved. Everybody will be involved with the play-calling ... ultimately it'll be my decision on the calls that go into this game. Kind of wanted to take that off Brian's plate going into the playoffs." - Ryan Day on taking over the play-calling duties.
