Season Record

Grizzlies: 1-0
Lakers: 0-2

The Grizzlies have a matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night before they play this game so they could be on a two-game winning streak before meeting the winless Los Angeles Lakers.  Tonight’s game aside the Grizzlies have a tough squad this year all dependent on the play of young star Ja Morant.  He leads a core of starters that could all grow into special NBA basketball players (except Steven Adams who already is what he will forever be, a very physically strong middle of the pack starting center). To open the season the Grizzlies beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 132-121.  They should have and almost everyone else will beat the Cavaliers this season.

The Lakers are a mess. They are shooting a low percentage, struggling with free throws, and have lost to two straight opponents. The Lakers lost to the Golden State Warriors 121-114 and the Phoenix Suns 115-105.  They have an entirely new team from last season having picked up 9 players as 9 players went out the door.  Yet what you see on the court should still revolve around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.  They will remember this Sunday night.

Grizzlies vs Lakers Preview and Analysis.

RECENT FORM

Offensive Analysis

The Grizzlies are 2nd in ppg but they have only played 1 game as of print time.  This will change after tonight and after the weekend.  They did, however play the Cavaliers tough.

The Lakers are 18th in points per game, 13th in 3-point shooting percentage, and 26th in free throw percentage.  They are missing some young guys from the lineup that usually hit a few shots from the arc. It’s a long season  ahead.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction
