Louisiana Tech vs Missouri Prediction

The current betting odds have LT listed as a 19 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. LT just had an awful season lst year where they only picked up 3 wins and they are starting fresh this year with a brand new coach and a few new players as starters. Both the players and the new head coach will be eager to make an impression with this first game and after a bad season like they had last year, they will be looking to erase those memories with a great performance here and start the new good memories with the new regime. They have a tough task with Missouri here as they started to play a lot better down the stretch last season but, this is still a team that barely made it into a Bowl game finishing .500. They were a good team at home last season as they were 5-2 there but they also did not win a single game last season, both home and away, by over 15 points with their biggest margin of victory against an FBS team being by 13 points last season. They also lost one of their biggest offensive contributors in Tyler Badie to the NFL so this offense is left in a worse spot than it was last season. Missouri will win this game but not by that many points as that is way too many for them to cover here. The best way to place a bet here is on LA Tech to cover the spread here.

Notable Quotes

"The men's basketball game against UAB, the men's basketball game against North Texas, the women's basketball game here this past weekend, the LSU baseball game and opening weeks in really every baseball game. I think the environment, the energy in those arenas, it's something that's inspiring me. It motivates you, fires you up and you want to try to build on that momentum in football and we want those, those same moments to happen in (Joe Aillet Stadium); we want those same fans to turn out with excitement and energy." - Sonny Cumbie on the school environment leading up to their season opener this Thursday.

"We wanted to create competition. It was a position that was very senior heavy, senior-laden, and we've had some injuries. We knew we needed to improve at the line of scrimmage." - Eli Drinkwitz on his defensive line this season before their season opener here on Thursday.
