Louisiana Tech vs Clemson Prediction

The current betting odds have LA Tech listed as a 34 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. LA Tech has not been good in their 2 games this season, they did win their last game beating up on a bad FCS team, but they lost their 1st game of the year by a lot to Missouri and that was a game where they could have given a much better effort. Now they are 3 games into the season and they should be a lot better having played 2 games together, but this is more of a knock on Clemson and how they have been performing this season. Clemson has won their 1st 2 games this season but they haven't looked that great in them. They struggled to pull away from GA Tech in their season opener and even in their last game against the FCS team Furman, they allowed them to score 12 points on their defense while only putting up 35 points on offense. They are not a team that is scoring a lot of points this year and the offense hasn't looked good under Uiagalelei either. The backup has looked much better in the few stints he has gotten out there and Uiagalelei is going to be a player who holds this offense back all year as he did last season. Clemson will win this game but they will not score enough points on offense to clear this number, and they are not going to shut LA Tech out either. The best way to place a bet here is on LA Tech to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“(McNeil) did a nice job of taking the gifts whenever we had them and getting them out to our playmakers and letting those guys make plays.” - Sonny Cumbie on Parker McNeil after his team’s win against SFA in their last game.

“The completion percentage (by Furman) was really high. Twenty-one of (the first) 25 completions were within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. We’ve got to do a better job at feeling the screens. Obviously, when you have an aggressive (defensive) front, people will screen you to death.” - Wes Goodwin on his team’s defense in their win against Furman last week.
