Rams vs Seahawks Prediction

The current betting odds have the Rams listed as a 5.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Rams were terrible last season with their 5-12 record overall and they completely missed out on the playoffs the year after winning the Super Bowl, but now they have made a ton of changes to their team and will be looking to turn things around this season. Sean McVay has completely revamped this offense with new coaches and he will be looking to evolve this offense to keep up with the league this season. They still have a lot of talent that was there when they won the Super Bowl and they are going to play hard in this 1st game of the season, especially since it is a division game. The Seahawks were a big surprise last season with their 9-8 record overall as Geno Smith took control of the offense and showed that they don't need Wilson with all of the talent they have. Their defense wasn't great though as they do give up a ton of points and a ton of yards too so the Rams will have no trouble moving the ball here even if the Seahawks put up a ton of points. The Seahawks are good enough to win this game at home but that defense is always vulnerable to giving up big plays and with an offensive mastermind like McVay on the other side, the Rams are definitely a live underdog to win this game. The best way to place a bet here is on the Rams to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“We really wanted to do our due diligence in finding the best coaches that were out there. And I have tremendous respect for the background of all those guys knowing that, hey, man, I was so fortunate to be around really good people that taught me, and I had tremendous respect for. Whether it was Ryan Wendell’s background as a player under Dante Scarnecchia and Bill [Belichick] and learning from Josh [McDaniels], then being under Aaron Kromer in Buffalo, who, there is some familiarity with our background.” - Sean McVay on the changes to his coaching staff for this new NFL season.

"He's doing remarkably well. I saw him respond to the injury at the outset, and then I saw him respond to when they told him he's going to have to get operated on, and so I'm not surprised at the attitude that he's brought post-surgery. He's out here working, catching balls, catching punts, doing everything. He ain't worried about it. It could have gone a number of different ways. It's gone the way of the competitor. He's not going to be denied. He wants to play football." - Pete Carroll on the injury to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
