The LA Rams had an awful November… or to put it better… They were awful in November.  They lost all three games they played in November, thank goodness for the bye-week. They lost to the Green Bay Packers, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Tennessee Titans.  Quarterback Matthew Stafford went into November with his name popping up in MVP rumors and projections, his utter floundering on the losing-streak firmly put those rumors to rest.  The NFL schedule gifted the Rams the Jacksonville Jaguars for an easy win to kick off December.  Of course now they will face the biggest test of the Rams season… a matchup with the division and conference leaders the Arizona Cardinals.  This is the same team that beat the Rams at SoFi Stadium earlier in the year.  This is a showdown that will offer the Rams redemption and they have to go into the Valley of the Sun as an underdog to get it.

The Arizona Cardinals are such a good team that when star quarterback Kyler Murray went down with an ankle injury and had to miss 3 games they won 2 (against the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers) of them.  That’s right the Cards won two games with backup QB Colt McCoy at the helm.  Kyler returned for the last game to beat up on the Chicago Bears 33-22.  So they win with Kyler and without Kyler.  That is a pretty solid reason to have Super Bowl aspirations.

Rams vs Cardinals Preview and Analysis

The Rams are 8-4 on the season, but 5-7 ATS.  They have logged 6 Overs, 5 Unders, and 1 Push.  They are 4-2 in road games.

The Cardinals are 10-2 on the season, but 9-3 ATS.  They have notched 6 Overs and 6 Unders.  They are vulnerable in home games where they are 3-2 (as opposed to being perfect in road games).

Offensive Analysis

The Rams offense is 6th in points per game with 28, 6th in yards per game with 386.9.  That breaks down to 3rd in passing and 23rd in rushing yards.

The Cardinals are 3rd in points per game with 28.6 and 13th in yards per game with 368.8 per. That breaks down to 11th in passing yards 244.6 per and 10th in rushing yards 124.2 per.

Defensive Analysis

The Rams defense is ranked 12th in the NFL… which sounds great , but they were hoping for better.  They allow 338.8 yards per game and are 16th in the NFL in allowing 22.5 points.

The Cardinals defense is 5th in defending yards by allowing 318.8 ypg and 4th in defending points by only allowing 18.7 per game.  They have a solid pass rush and defensive secondary.  They will be able to take away most of the Rams receivers in coverage.

Los Angeles Rams vs Arizona Cardinals Prediction

Our prediction for Monday, December 13th is… Rams 35 - Cardinals 28

This will be a high scoring resurrection of Rams Pride.  The Rams have had some easy wins this season against the Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, NY Giants and it might have lulled them into thinking the season would be a cakewalk… They are un-lulled now.  They will win outright.
