Brewers: 61-52, 2nd place NL Central.

The Dodgers snapped their magical win streak of 13 games in their last game.  They will play Game 1 of the series with the Brewers Monday Night… This prediction is for Game 2.  It is good to mention that they will not lose against this team.  Let’s check the pitching matchup shall we?

A National League matchup between the best in the National League and the 2nd best in the NL Central (weakest National League division). The Brewers are potentially the team that could finally do it!  No one has beaten the Los Angeles Dodgers in the last 13 games (12, but they play the Royals today and I’m assuming another Dodger win).  The Magic to the streak of course is that the Dodgers have also won every game in the stretch ATS… Only 2 teams have gotten within 3 runs and no one has gotten closer.  The 2nd win against the Royals was Dodgers 13 - Royals 3. The roll this has put me on both with betting games and making predictions is personally historic.  If the Dodgers are able to keep it up I’ll be a rich man and they will set team records across the board.  The Brewers have struggled as of late.  After leading the NL Central for most of the season, the lost that lead to the Cleveland Guardians recently.  That is embarrassing if you have seen the Guardians stats.  Yet, The Brewers still have some bright spots of talent both in the line-up and among the pitching staff.  The right combination on the right night could squeak out a win… Let’s check the numbers and make a solid prediction.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on fire.  They are a killing machine at the moment better than Shwarzeneggar in any Terminator movie.  Had the Dodgers been the Terminator… Sarah Connor would have been dead in the first 3 minutes of the first movie.  They have won 10 of their last ten games and are coasting into a 13 game win streak.  The top of the line-up has an order of 1) Mookie Betts, 2) Trea Turner, and 3) Freddie Freeman… Three of the top-15 batters in all of baseball… Those guys are filled by 3 legitimate power hitters in Will Smith, Justin Turner, and Max Muncy… batting 9th for the Dodgers is former league MVP Cody Bellinger… seriously batting 9th for the Dodgers is a recent league MVP. And the line-up is ALMOST as impressive as the pitching staff.  They went 2-0 against the Kansas City Royals, SWEPT the Minnesota Twins 2-0, SWEPT the San Diego Padres 3-0, and SWEPT the San Francisco Giants 3-0 (as part of a bigger 4-0 SWEEP) during that stretch of games.  No one is hotter than the Dodgers.

The Milwaukee Brewer are not on fire.  They have only won 4 of their last 10 games. They have an above average pitching staff but just barely… and they have an above average line-up but just barely.  They went 1-1 against the St Louis Cardinals, 2-0 against the Tampa Bay Rays, 1-2 against the Cincinnati Reds, and 0-3 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  The Pirates losses are especially bad, but at the time the Brewers had an injury list that was pretty full.  They have since gotten a few guys back.  To beat the Dodgers they will have to capitalize off of a bad Dodger game or have a pretty great game themselves… possibly both at the same time.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

Our prediction for Tuesday, August 16h is… Dodgers 10 - Brewers 3

The Dodgers win streak starts again.  The bet in this prediction is for both the Dodgers on the moneyline and a parlay with the Dodgers ATS. This team is too good and too dominant not to keep parlaying that direction.  I’m up more than my yearly budget for gambling… just because of the Dodgers… I believe you should be too.

Key Injuries

Dodgers: C Austin Barnes (personal) Out ** 3B E. Rios (hammy) Out ** CF K Pillar (shoulder) Out **

Brewers: C O. Narvaez (quad) Out ** 2B J. Peterson (elbow) Out

Players to Watch

Dodgers: RHP Ryan Pepiot, 1-0. 3.92 ERA, 23 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched, 1.45 WHIP.  This 24 year old is operating on such a small number of innings and games that his numbers are nearly meaningless.  However, he is another in the long line of great Dodger call-ups that could turn into an all-time great.  Bet how you want, This guy is backed by the best bullpen in the majors.

Brewers: RHP Freddy Peralta, 4-2, 4.37 ERA, 57 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched. 1.14 WHIP.  This 26 year old is a good pitcher… He has the tools to strike guys out. Can he do it against the best line-up in baseball?

Starting Lineups

Dodgers: RF Mookie Betts, SS Trea Turner, 1B Freddie Freeman, C Will Smith, 3B Max Muncy, DH Justin Turner, 2B Gavin Lux, LF Joey Gallo, CF Cody Bellinger

Brewers: RHP Bradnon Woodruff, 9-3, 3.52 ERA, 109 strikeouts in 92 innings pitched,. 1.14 WHIP.  Brandon isn’t terrible at all.  He has a winning record for his career and for this season…. Only now he has to pitch to Mookie, Trea, and Freddie… and he will lose.

Manager

Dodgers: Dave “Is this heaven?” Roberts
Brewers: Craig “ nah… it’s Milwaukee” Counsell

Weather Forecast

Partly Cloudy, 74*, Humidity 65%, wind 11 mph, Precipitation 10%.  The weather will be mild as mild gets.  A nice night to play a little ball.  The humidity will knock pop-ups short… but that shouldn’t bother anyone.  Get some brats and enjoy the game.
