NBA Standings

Clippers: 37-39, 8th place Western Conference
Bucks: 47-48, 2nd place Eastern Conference

A non-conference NBA matchup between teams that want more and can be more.  The only thing both of them need is health.  Real Health.  The Milwaukee Bucks are the second best team in the Eastern Conference with maybe the best player of this current generation.  LeBron had the last two decades of basketball.  Giannis has it now.  The best player doesn’t always win MVP every year or the voters would have nothing to argue about.  The Bucks outside of Giannis are a pretty good team on their own.  Why aren’t the Bucks in 1st place… they will be by the final game in the season, but maybe because they had some injury problem to C Brook Lopez… and that the team usually waits for the Playoffs to kill the opposition.  The Clippers have two of the ten best players in the league… they have both been hurt for long stretches this year.  In Kahwi’s season… there has simply been no season. The underlying team though is the best team in the league!  Show me any other team that loses their two top-ten, max contract players, for either all season or many months… and still make the playoffs?... It doesn’t happen.  Other teams can not pull it off.  The Clippers did through team play under head coach Tye Lue.. They may only be the 8th seed… but they just got Paul George back and rumor has it that Kawhi will give it a try in practice.  The future is uncertain for both teams… The Bucks are likely to win and be big favorites.  The Clippers have a true leader in PG Reggie Jackson that is now the toughest player in the league.

The Los Angeles Clippers have won only 3 of their last ten games.  They went 4-6 ATS during that stretch.  It would be sad if we weren’t talking about the Clippers who are a wounded bird without their two stars. In their last game one of their stars returned.  Paul George played 30 minutes and scored 34 points.  This is now a new team.  They beat Utah after falling behind by 25 points… They have done that impossible feat 4 times this season! The team relies on PG Raggie Jackson, SG Luke Kennard, and a variety of quality role players to bring home any wins.. But now with PG13 back… They can win anything.  We just don’t know.  It helps that the Clippers have a two=-headed Center in 7’0 Ivica Zubac and 7’0 Isaiah Hartenstein… those guys are both  interchangeable and they are both exciting in short bursts.

The Milwaukee Bucks have won 7 of their last ten games.  They went 7-3 ATS during that stretch.  They have the best player in the league.  I do not care where the MVP trophy lands.  Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the team in scoring 29.9, rebounds 11.6, blocks 1.5, and FG% 55.2%.  It’s scary how good Giannis is… he is worth 2 stars on another team.  Giannis is supported by PG Jrue Holiday, SF Khris Middleton and some shooters… we just don’t know how good any of those other guys are because without Giannis they may be nothing.
