NBA Standings

Clippers: 27-28, 8th place Western Conference
Grizzlies: 37-18, 3rd place Western Conference

A Western Conference battle between the rising sun and a bunch of magicians.  No result in the NBA is for certain.  The point spread helps make it that way… but the actual win loss column is littered by 15 teams that were beat by the Houston Rockets and 12 teams that were beat by the Orlando Magic.  That is 27 matchups where players, coaches, fans, and fans ask: “what the hell just happened?”  The truth is some teams are great… like the Memphis Grizzlies.  The Memphis Grizzlies are winning games in bunches and have risen from missing the playoffs year after year to contending legitimately for the whole darn thing.  The Grizzlies have the best young player in the league not named Luka.  That player is PG Ja Morant.  Ja is electric!  Ja scores, defends, jumps out of the gym, and loves playing basketball.  Ja has a good young roster around him with an actual Barbarian setting screens!  The Grizzlies have the feeling of a team that can’t be stopped.  Then there is the Clippers.  The Clippers are the owners of a curse that rivals any in sports.  For decades they had the worst owner in all of sports… a miserable bit of scum only rivaled by his worthless dirty wife.  The League eventually forced that bit of scum to sell the team.  Everyone thought the curse would be over.  It’s not.  No matter what moves the Clippers make… Big Trades, Big signings, spending deep into the luxury tax… something always happens.  The current something is that two-time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard joined the team and forced the team to trade for another all-star to play alongside of (Paul George)... and now they are both out with Injury.  In Kawhi’s case the injury is the type that makes cautious guys miss entire seasons, if not more.  The best intentions of Billionaire Steve Ballmer have all gone awry.  It turns out he spent 2 BILLION dollars to buy a cursed team!... but wait… They win enough games every now and then?... I mean how?... they have very little on the roster… How could they beat the Philadelphia 76ers? Or the Charlotte Hornets? Or the Los Angeles Lakers?... They did though.  With a roster missing their two best players… Two players that cost the Clippers 4 players and 6 1st round draft picks.  What’s left on the roster is PG Reggie Jackson and Center Ivica Zubac… and scoring revelation, backup SG Luke Kennard.  Also they recently won the trade deadline with a pickup of Norman Powell from the Portland Trail Blazers for almost nothing.  In Norman’s first game he scored 28 points off the bench!  The magician part of it is they keep pulling out enough wins to stay in the top 8… and they will get Paul George back… and maybe just maybe… Kawhi could come back in time for the playoffs?

The Los Angeles Clippers have won 5 of their last 10 games.  In one game SF/SG Norman Powell became the team’s leading scorer at 28 ppg.  It is 4 points higher than the best average of both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard in a Clipper uniform.  Sure, it will come down eventually… But why?  Norman is home in Los Angeles, the team needs a scorer outside of bench scorer SG Luke Kennard and there's no one except Norman to take up the mantle. The Clippers' place in the standings are not great but the existing team really can do damage in the Playoffs… especially when Paul George returns.

The Memphis Grizzlies are blazing through the league!  They have won 7 of their last 10 games.
Leading scorer PG Ja Morant has officially announced his arrival.  ESPN drops a Ja highlight every day.  Advertisers are lined up to sign Ja… exactly the opposite of when he was a poorly recruited AAU teammate of Zion Williamson that had to wait until the last minute to get a proper college offer… But it still wasn’t from a major program. Ja isn’t alone on an island though.  He is backed by a fantastic young PF Jaren Jackson Jr who is a one man block party that also pours in 16.7 ppg.  C Steven Adams, SG Desmond Bane, SF Zaire Williams.. They are all the real deal.  This is a tough deep team.

All season long, I've CLOBBERED the NBA and am now on a DYNAMIC 14-4 run with totals! This one happens to be a GIANT 10*! Go get it!
