Season Record

Angels: 13-7, 1st place AL West
White Sox: 7-11, 3rd place AL Central

An American League matchup between West and Central.

The Los Angeles Angels have won 7 of their last 10 games.  Posting 2 wins off of the Texas Rangers, 2 wins off of the Houston Astros, 2 wins off of the Cleveland Guardians, and 1 win off of the Baltimore Orioles… so they haven’t really been beating anybody major.  Still the Angels are off to a hot start thanks to Mike Trout and his big bat … and Shoehei Ohtani and his promise of excellence from both sides of the ball.  The Angels could be a very exciting team this season if they maintain the health of P Noah Syndergaard and continued hitting from young outfielder Taylor Ward.

The Chicago White Sox have won only 1 game of their last ten.  Manager Tony La Russa is asleep at the switch with back to back 3-game sweeps from the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Guardians… They also went 1-2 against the Kansas City Royals and lost a game to the Tampa Bay Rays.  The batting numbers are atrocious, the fielding errors are piling up, the injury list is nearly full, and green around the gills 2019 #3 overall pick in the draft LF Andrew Vaughn is leading the team in homers and BA.  Guys that young aren’t even supposed to have made it to the starting lineup yet.  The White Sox are tumbling into obscurity and the season is only 18 games old.  There is plenty of time to write the ship… it’s a long season… blah blah.
