Kansas State - Kansas preview and analysis

Last week
Kansas State: won 31-12 vs. TCU
Kansas: lost 55-3 at Oklahoma State

The Kansas State Wildcats will try for their third consecutive win and officially clinch bowl eligibility when they visit the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday.

And with that, we’d like to congratulate the Kansas State Wildcats for their win over the Kansas Jayhawks.

It is written in the college football constitution that Kansas is only allowed one good thing during its season, and it is up to the Jayhawks whether they capitalize on it or not.

That good thing was against the Oklahoma Sooners and they did not capitalize. Therefore, there is no more winning to be had in this lexicon.

The Wildcats are coming off a 19-point win against the TCU Horned Frogs that wound up being the final game of the Gary Patterson era in Fort Worth. Skylar Thompson threw for 242 yards and a touchdown for the home team, while Deuce Vaughn ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

The winner of the day was pass rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah, however, with four sacks and two forced fumbles as quarterbacks Max Duggan and Chandler Morris continue to have nightmares of a man destroying them in the pocket.

The matchup that lies ahead for Kansas State is a Kansas team that has somehow won a game this year but the last few weeks have been a bad roller coaster. Coming within one quarter of defeating Oklahoma, Kansas followed that with a 52-point loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

There is no better destroyer of worlds than the Jayhawks; destroying their own world by way of internal combustion because they sold their soul for an Orange Bowl appearance a long time ago. Legend has it if you ask Aqib Talib about it he just bursts into flames because it’s never to be done again.

If you’re hoping for any potential reasoning in Kansas even covering this matchup, it will not happen. This is a Kansas group that gives up nearly 44 points per game while somehow only putting together 15.8 and that’s not even factoring the 480 yards they give up per game.

Prediction

Unless you’re feeling very dangerous at the books this weekend, play it safe and take K-State. There’s no reason on this planet why the Jayhawks should even be close. They had their chance against Oklahoma. They aren’t allowed to do anything noteworthy anymore. Kansas State by 30
