Jaguars vs Colts Prediction

The current betting odds have the Jaguars listed as a 5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Jaguars had a much improved season last year with their 9-8 record overall winning the AFC Title too, but they fizzled out in the playoffs and they will be looking to take a big step this season in Lawrence's 3rd season in the NFL and Pederson's 2nd season as head coach. Doug Pederson really turned this team around last season and now they have surrounded Lawrence with a lot of talent on this offense, both in the running game and the receiving game. Meanwhile, the Colts were terrible last season with their 4-12-1 record overall and they have hired a new head coach for this season now. Steichen is in his 1st season as head coach with a rookie QB Anthony Richardson who they drafted but this offense is still lacking a lot of talent, especially with the running game since Taylor is still dealing with injuries and disgruntled with the team. The Colts may be at home for this 1st game of the season but Steichen is not going to have everyone on the same page here in his 1st year as coach with a rookie QB and not a whole lot of talent around. This Jaguars team is looking to be the next dominant force in the AFC South though and they will be looking to have an even better season this year which all starts with a big win in this division game. The best way to place a bet here is on the Jaguars to cover the spread in this game.
