We have officially hit the halfway mark and if you haven't enjoyed the parity in the NFL this season, what are you even doing? There are so many quality teams with winning records that may, or may not, challenge for the Super Bowl, but it's going to at least make these final couple of months really interesting in all division races. And as the races get tighter and the football gets more intensified, it's all about the winning plays that you can find at bigal.com. If you need the right person to go off of for those winning plays, look no further than Sean Murphy going 20-14-0 over the last month in what's been a profitable 30 days for him. Colts - Raiders preview, analysis and prediction

Last week
Colts: lost 26-3 at Patriots
Raiders: lost 27-20 at Jaguars

This is going to be the weirdest game of two bad teams we may see, and surprisingly enough there are enough storylines to go around. But how in the world did Jeff Saturday end up as the new coach of the Indianapolis Colts and get a game against the Las Vegas Raiders as his first test? Not even I fully understand what was happening here, nor do I think Jim Irsay is at the forefront of fully understanding what’s going on.

But the Colts are officially moving on from Frank Reich, we’re not sure if Sam Ehlinger may still be the quarterback in this regime, and Saturday is coming off fresh from the ESPN booth to coach a Colts team still with playoff aspirations. They’re taking on a Raiders team that nearly half the world thought fired Josh McDaniels because some idiot paid $8 for Elon Musk’s new Twitter system and got a fake Adam Schefter account verified.

Even in the slightest, you’d probably think that it was something that would be real. Alas, Elon keeps making money and the Raiders still have McDaniels. But who knows? Maybe that’ll happen if the Raiders lose to the Jeff Saturday-coached Raiders on Sunday in Las Vegas.

The Colts made the move to go with the longtime All-Pro lineman, who snapped the ball to Peyton Manning for many years in Indianapolis, after it seemed their season was going nowhere. Jonathan Taylor was never healthy, the Matt Ryan experiment never worked, and things resorted to going to the young Texas quarterback as the solution. But off a 26-3 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday, it appears Irsay is ready to try anything.

“When he said, ‘Hey, can you help me?’ Absolutely I’ll help,” Saturday recounted before his first practice as Indy’s interim coach. “If somebody called and said this is an opportunity to say, for the people in this room and in this building, would you do it?’ Absolutely I’m going to do it.”

Saturday later admitted he doesn’t know if this will work, but he’s going to try and make the Colts competitive for the final eight games. Again, maybe the Raiders need some sort of that ridiculousness right now after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 for their third 17-point blown lead of the season. To the Jaguars. This is really embarrassing.

To make things worse, former first-round pick Jonathan Abram was waived after looking like an inept coverage player who thought his you know what didn’t stink. Try talking to him for 5 minutes and he’s a problem. Anyway, the Raiders are the joke of the NFL and it showed again to fall to 2-6.

“We’re going to try to figure out what we need to do to shift the results,” McDaniels said. “Some of those things might be very minor. If you change the result of four plays yesterday, it probably changes the game, and that’s how every game is when it’s that tight. I definitely am not going to go in there and panic and say we need to uproot everything we’ve done.”

The Raiders are just an abhorrent mess. Derek Carr is likely on his way out so McDaniels could try and get the quarterback of his dreams, but perhaps Dave Ziegler sees it differently. I don’t know. I’m just tired of walking around this city with people talking about like the Raiders still have a chance. Maybe a snowball’s chance in hell to make this season worth it. I hate it here.

Prediction

I really want the Raiders to lose because I want this organization fired into the sun and out of my city. But the Colts are way behind the 8-ball with what may, or may not happen, with Saturday at the helm. This is the last time I trust the Raiders for anything. Raiders by 14
