Illinois vs Michigan Prediction

The current betting odds have Michigan listed as a 17 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Michigan is one of the few undefeated teams left in the country and they have been getting better and better each week that they play. Their defense was really good at the start of the season but still gave up more points than they should have, now they are playing like the elite defense they had last year and they have been very tough to score on in their last few games. The Michigan offense is also starting to roll over teams while Illinois has been heading in the opposite direction as of late. Illinois was playing so well for most of the season but now they have lost 2 games in a row and their defense really hasn't looked that great. They are starting to give up a lot more points in their games now but, their offense hasn't looked good either and it has struggled all season as they don't put up a ton of points in their games relying on that good defense. Illinois is going to struggle to score at all on this good Michigan defense and Michigan will just keep adding to the score with their offense until the deficit is too large for Illinois to come back from. The best way to place a bet here is on Michigan to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"When we can't follow through on doing the fundamentals of that philosophy, complimentary football, efficient on early downs, take advantage of manageable clock situations, all of those things, if we don't do that, we're going to have failure. That's what we've seen the last two weeks." - Bret Bielema after his team’s loss against Purdue in their last game.

"Just going 1-0, that's what we're trying to do each week. Really proud, I'm really proud of the team. I mean, the players are the ones that deserve the most credit. I mean, they've worked so darn hard and it's such a real tight-knit group, it's fun. It's a joyful, happy ride that we're on.” - Jim Harbaugh after his team’s win against Nebraska in their last game.
