Astros vs Athletics Prediction

The current betting odds have the Astros listed as a massive favorite. The Astros have been playing very well coming into this series. They were starting to fade a little right before the break but that break was exactly what they needed as they have come out and have not lost a game since. They have been scoring a lot of runs in their games but their pitching has also been great and they should be able to keep the worst offense in the MLB in the A's here off the board all day. The A's have been playing a lot better recently as their pitching has been very good but they are not scoring a lot of runs in their wins and will have trouble keeping up with the Houston offense here. The A's are also starting Oller here who is still just a rookie and has not pitched very well in his few starts either. The Astros are going with Odorizzi who was kept out for most of the season with an injury but he has been great since coming back and should have no problem pitching against a very bad lineup here. The Astros are on a roll right now and one of the best teams in the MLB this season. The best way to place a bet here is on the Astros to win on the runline.

Notable Quotes

"I remember the greats, Bob Gibson and (Tom) Seaver, and I told him, ‘You know, when they were in trouble, they knew how to pitch out of trouble.' The mark of a good pitcher is figuring out how to get either a double play or a popup or a strikeout, and I tell you, that one that was great. I mean, we needed that. He needed it. We're operating on fumes today, so I'll say that was a great victory." - Dusty Baker after his team’s win against the Mariners on Saturday.

"Santana got in some trouble with his command there and we took advantage of it and it led to an inning where we got some runs. Guys were trying to stay within themselves, stay in the zone and feed off each other. That was a good example of them doing that." - Mark Kotsay after his team’s win against the Rangers on Saturday.
