Astros vs Mets Prediction

The current betting odds have the Astros as a slight underdog in this game. They have been playing very well in their games recently and just went toe-to-toe with the best team in the MLB right now. They split their series with the Yankees but easily could have won if their bullpen did not collapse late in their 2 losses, allowing the Yankees to score runs in the 8th and 9th innings to tie and eventually go on to win. They just swept the Mets last week in another 2-game series and now they are on the road here where they have actually been a better team this season. The Mets have also been playing very well as they are one of the best teams in the NL with their record but they do not have the bats or the pitching that the Astros have and getting them at this cheap price is some very good value. Both of these starting pitchers have been having good seasons but Valdez has been a little better than Carrasco has been and Valdez has the bullpen to back him up. The best way to place a bet here is on the Astros to win this game.

"Their guy pitched well, we knew that with the good cutter-slider mix. I think early on we had a chance to get something on, not let him get his feet on the ground. The good part is how well (Peterson) pitched." - Buck Showalter after his team’s loss against the Marlins on Sunday.
