Georgia State vs Coastal Carolina Prediction

The current betting odds have Coastal Carolina listed as a 6.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Coastal Carolina has gotten off to a rough start this season but they looked a lot better against their FCS opponent last week and will be able to build on that here. Now their conference play is starting and they open up the conference schedule with a home game. Georgia State has played really well in their first 3 games of the season and they pulled off a big road win against Charlotte in their last game. Charlotte isn't great though so that road win doesn't have much weight on it and this is going to be a bit of a let down spot for them since the program has never started a season 3-0 in their history. Coastal Carolina has a really good offense under Grayson McCall and they are going to pick apart this Georgia State defense at home here. Coastal Carolina is also going to be extra motivated since they haven't looked good to start the season so this is their chance to send a message to the rest of the conference that they are ready to compete for the title again. The best way to place a bet here is on Coastal Carolina to cover the spread in this game.

Georgia State Coastal Carolina Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Thursday, September 21, 2023 (7:30 pm ET start time) is Coastal Carolina 37 Georgia State 27.

Notable Quotes

"I'm really proud of our football team for the first 3-0 start in school history. I thought our throwing game was really on point tonight. We took advantage of some things we saw. We've got some really special receivers who made some plays, and Darren made some great throws. We couldn't really get our ground game going, but our passing game really took over." - Shawn Elliott after his team’s win against Charlotte in their last game.

“I also know we didn’t play well in the teal helmets either until last week (a 66-7 win over Duquesne). I think we’re getting rid of some of the omens, so to speak.” - Tim Beck on his team coming into this game against GA State.
