Georgia Southern vs Buffalo Prediction

The current betting odds have Buffalo listed as a 3.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Buffalo had a very good start to their season as they were rolling over teams in their conference to start but they really unraveled near the end of the season as they were in the conversation to go to the Title game but played poorly down the final stretch. Georgia Southern did not have a very good season at all this year as they took some bad losses during the year and they just barely made it into this game with an OT win in their final game of the season to send them here. Buffalo was in a similar situation as they started to lose a lot of games near the end and even came close to losing their last game of the season to Akron which would have kept them out of this game. Now that they are here though they will definitely be playing with a chip on their shoulder as the starting QB for GA Southern in this game happens to be the same player who was the starting QB for Buffalo last season but he left in the transfer portal. The Buffalo defense is going to be trying to get after him all day here and they will be playing with some extra motivation here. The best way to place a bet here is on Buffalo to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"I feel like you have two teams who really had to fight their way in. When you look at college football, only half the teams get the opportunity to play one more game together and we are honored to be able to do that." - Clay Helton on this upcoming Bowl game against Buffalo.

"You're looking at who you need to add, and where are they coming from. There's a little bit of a pro mindset, in terms of player acquisition. Obviously, you're still dealing with student-athletes, where school is involved, and those things.” - Maurice Linguist on recruiting new players for next season.
