Florida Atlantic Owls Analysis

FAU is coming into this game with a 3-2 record overall and they are 0-2 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their 2nd conference matchup of the season and they are already off to a good start this year with a 1-0 record in their conference games this season. Their 2 losses came against the Florida Gators and the Air Force Falcons while their 3 wins came against the Georgia Southern Eagles, the Fordham Rams, and against FIU in their last game. Florida Atlantic vs UAB Prediction

Both of these teams have very good offenses. UAB has been scoring a lot of points in their games, the only 2 games they struggled in were against Liberty, who have a very good defense, and against Georgia who has the best defense in the country. They even managed to score 7 points on UGA who has shut out the last 2 opponents they have faced. FAU does not have a great defense as they have allowed a few opponents to score over 20 points against them in their games this year. FAU has been moving the ball well on offense and gaining a lot of yards though. The total is set below 50 in this game with the current betting odds and that is low enough for this game to go over. Both of these teams have good enough offenses where each will score 20 points or more in this will likely be a close game as both will want to keep their conference record perfect. The best bet to make in this game is on the over.

Players to Watch

Florida Atlantic Owls: Johnny Ford is one player to watch in this game. He leads his team in rushing yards this season. He is coming off of a massive game where he had over 100 yards rushing but he also had over 80 yards receiving as well. He is a good dual threat as a runner and a pass catcher so look for him to get a lot of looks here as his versatility will come in handy in the biggest moments of the game.

UAB Blazers: Jermaine Brown Jr. is one player to watch here. He had a big game in their last one with over 100 yards rushing in it. He was really the only one on the offense that was going in that game so look for them to give the ball to him a lot as he has the hot hand right now.

Notable Quotes

“That’s what we set out to do from the beginning: stop the run. That part was mission accomplished. We wanted to keep Price under 100.” - Willie Taggart on their game plan in last week’s win against FIU.

“Gosh, what a great opening to our stadium. I had tears in my eyes when we showed up today. It was unbelievable and electric. Going down that Blazer Walk, it’ll be something I’ll never forget and want to thank everybody that was part of that.
