East Carolina vs Coastal Carolina Prediction

The current betting odds have East Carolina listed as a 7.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. East Carolina finished their season with a 7-5 record while their opponent had a much better 9-3 season this year, but East Carolina has a big advantage in this game as the starting QB for Coastal Carolina has announced he is entering the transfer portal and will not be playing in this game. He has pretty much played every snap for Coastal Carolina over the last 2 years and with him being out in this game, it will put a lot of pressure on the offense to perform with a new QB in there. East Carolina will have most of their starters playing in this game which already gives them a huge advantage here. Coastal Carolina did have a great season even going to their Conference Championship, but they still lost that game to Troy by around 20 points and that was with their starting QB Grayson McCall still playing in that game. This is going to be a very tough game for the Coastal Carolina offense and they will not be able to do a lot in this game while East Carolina will be really motivated to end their season with a nice Bowl win here. The best way to place a bet here is on East Carolina to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“Let’s see, no sleep. Probably not going to see my family very much. Spend a lot of time in a lot of different ways recruiting. With signing day being the 21st this year, you just have a lot longer with the recruiting stuff. It’s balance. Any day we’re not practicing, the coaches aren’t sitting around. We’ll be out recruiting, seeing our committed kids, following up on anybody else we’re trying to close out the deal with here before signing day.” - Mike Houston on the juggling of being in a Bowl game while trying to recruit new players for next season.

"We are excited to be playing in the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl this season, a place with great football history in Birmingham, Ala. Our team is excited to represent our University and the Sun Belt Conference once again on a national level. We will get back to work and look forward to playing in another postseason bowl game, especially one that has such a great impact on the local community and has a great relationship with TicketSmarter, ESPN Events, and several charities." - Chad Staggs on this upcoming Bowl game against ECU.
