Broncos - Titans preview, analysis and prediction

Last week
Broncos: Bye (won 21-17 vs. Jaguars in London two weeks ago)
Titans: lost 20-17 (OT) at Chiefs

The Denver Broncos survived for another day and aren’t completely Thanos’d just yet. But that could change on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans in what might be a field day for the Tennessee running game and a nightmare for the Broncos as a whole.

The Broncos figured out how to win by the grace of everything holy with a 21-17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars two weeks ago. They were the designated home team, but the game occurred in London, which means Denver has won half the games it has in the United States. If you’re a Broncos fan, this absolutely does not help your cause whatsoever. There’s no better way for the Broncos to come off a bye week than with a win, even if it’s against the Jaguars.

Russell Wilson, who continues to cry by a rainy window pane every night knowing Geno Smith has the Seattle Seahawks atop the NFC West, threw for 252 yards and a touchdown and led Denver on a game-winning drive capped by a 2-yard touchdown run from Latavius Murray. How bad is it in Denver? Latavius Murray is still finding a job every year.

“Our goals haven’t changed and we feel we can still win moving forward,” said Broncos general manager George Paton, who just traded a strong defensive piece in linebacker Bradley Chubb to the Miami Dolphins, considering the defense has been the only good thing for the Broncos to this point.

The Broncos have been a complete disappointment. Nathaniel Hackett is not the coach for this team. Wilson has been abysmal. The weapons are not producing the way they should. It’s been a near disaster. This offense averages 15 points per game and is about to face a Tennessee team that is giving up close to 20. And coming home after nearly pulling off an upset win in Kansas City, you think this group is going to be mad?

Because if I’m the Titans, I absolutely would be angry at how things have progressed. They come back to win five in a row and let a chance against Patrick Mahomes slip away. They also let it slip away with Malik Willis playing quarterback despite going 5 of 16. The Titans forced Mahomes to throw 68 TIMES AND HE THREW JUST ONE TOUCHDOWN. This sport is dumb sometimes.

But it’s all Derrick henry after he ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns to produce the only offense for the Titans on this day. And until Ryan Tannehill comes back, that’s all that will be able to be had at this juncture.

“There’s no room for cushions,” coach Mike Vrabel said Monday.

Alas, they’re still in first place in a disappointing AFC South. Something is going right, at least.

Prediction

It’s unclear if Tannehill (ankle) will be back for this one, but the Titans defense has been strong enough to limit these offenses. Denver won’t be any exception and I am under the impression that the Broncos haven’t figured anything out after the bye week. It’s only a matter of time before they blow everything up in Denver. Bronco Country, let’s ride. Titans by 14
