Broncos - Ravens preview, analysis and prediction

Last week
Broncos: lost 23-10 at Panthers
Ravens: lost 28-27 at Jaguars

There are some teams that when you watch them on a week-to-week basis that after you finish watching them, you are left wondering if relegation is a thing. Because what the Denver Broncos have been able to put together over the last, really, the entire season, has really been just an incredible amount of ineptitude and formidable ridiculousness the likes of which we have never seen. And now Denver will be taking on the Baltimore Ravens this week, in which is a big game for the home team considering they can pad their lead in the AFC North division while the Broncos are literally just trying to do anything but kill each other at this point.

We all saw what Mike Purcell did on Sunday right? We saw him get so angry that he just lost his mind in Russell Wilson's face? We saw that right? Because if that is not the most fitting thing that has happened with the Broncos to this point then I have no idea what it is. It's a very good thing that Wilson went his third consecutive game without throwing an interception. I think that kind of needs to be commendable to what this man has tried to do this year with the most inept coaching staff I've ever seen, and with the most inept direction, I have ever seen a franchise go through.

All we know right now is that the Seattle Seahawks are sitting in Seattle right now laughing their asses off because Denver is choking this away right now. All of their draft picks, all of the players they got rid of, and for what? For Denver to actually believe that an offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers can just walk right in and turn this offense into what Aaron Rodgers perceives it to be. And as a result of that Denver is now at the bottom of the barrel and they have no choice but to try and survive with this albatross of a contract that they have given this quarterback.

The Broncos are coming off a 23-10 loss, yes a loss, to the Carolina Panthers. I was watching a video the other day that described Denver’s final touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. And how there were so many penalties and so many ridiculous things that would force ineptitude down all of our throats. It was a drive that went 40-something yards and it went 14 plays and it took six minutes off the clock. This is the kind of thing that Broncos fans are having to deal with on a daily basis and it's quite frankly the most ridiculous bit of football I have ever seen. I have never seen a quarterback throw for eight touchdowns to just five interceptions on the season with as much talent as Russell Wilson and the fact that he is still close to 3000 yards is quite impressive to me.

Denver is not going anywhere in the standings except for the bottom, and it's not like Denver will be going after a quarterback in the draft this year. Unless they really wanted to go haywire and just tank the rest of the way and possibly get a quarterback that they know they can stash for a few more years behind Wilson's. The only problem is Wilson's cap hit for the next five years is absolutely insane and if Denver tries to release him at any point under his contract, they will be paying at least 80 million in dead money. This is how bad it is right now for Denver.

And you mean to tell me that I should think that the Broncos will go into Baltimore after losing the last two weeks that Denver has, and beat Lamar Jackson? No, I don't believe that to be the case. Baltimore is coming off, however, a 28-27 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. It was not the greatest of crunch time showings for John Harbaugh and company and Jacksonville somehow found a way to win that game period now Baltimore almost won it at the end if Justin Tucker had a little bit more juice on his 67 yard field goal, which was pretty close in its own right, but alas the Ravens once again proved that they might not be ready for primetime.

Jackson had just one touchdown last week despite having 343 total yards between passing and running. That's not good enough. For as electric as he is, he needs to find the end zone more especially against a team like Jacksonville. Denver will forever have a good defense and that will cause some trouble for Baltimore in this matchup, but Baltimore has a good defense as well and Denver’s offense is just spinning out of control.

Prediction

Honestly, there's not much that needs to be said with this one period don't overthink it. Denver, I don't think, will win another game this year. Unless Denver figures something out in the final month of the season and somehow turns it around to where it saves Nathaniel Hackett’s job, This is going to be a rough week for the Broncos on both sides of the ball.
