Mikko Rantanen led the team in goals scored with 3 as he recorded the hattrick for them in that one. Evgenii Dadonov, Matt Duchene, Thomas Harley, Roope Hintz, Ilya Lyubushkin, and Sam Steel each led the team in assists with 1 while Mikko Rantanen led the team in shots on net in that game with 5. Stars vs Jets Prediction

The current betting odds have the Jets listed as a slight favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. This is game 2 of a 7 game series between the 1st seeded Jets and the 2nd seeded Stars from the Central Division for the 2nd round of the NHL Western Conference playoffs. The Stars are leading this series 1-0 after winning game 1 on the road. The Stars took a 1-0 series lead with a 3-2 win over the Jets in the 1st game of this series, but that was a really tight game. The Jets struck first in the 2nd period but ended up falling behind 3-2 by the end of that 20 minutes and that was good enough for the Stars to win in a tight game. Hellebuyck didn't play bad in that game though, even though he gave up 3 goals, and the Jets looked like the better team for most of the night, even taking more shots. This will likely be another tight game with these two playing much better defensively in this series, but the home advantage should be enough for the Jets to edge out the Stars in this one. That was their first loss at home in the playoffs this season, but the Jets have looked a lot better on home ice so far while the Stars have struggled more in the 4 road games they have played in. The Jets are also going to come out much stronger in this one as they look to bounce back and they need the win more as they don't want to go back to Dallas down 2-0 in the series. The Stars grinded out a tight win in game 1, but the Jets looked like the better team and now that the Stars have already flipped the home advantage in this series, they don't need to come out as hard in this one. The best way to place a bet here is on the Jets to win this game.

Notable Quotes

“Let’s see how long he can run this for. Yeah, he’s rolling and he’s feeling it. Pretty impressive, what he’s doing. I mean, considering the opponent and the time of year and how he’s dominating games -- really impressive." - Pete DeBoer after his team’s win against the Jets in game 2 of this series on Wednesday.

“[Rantanen is] just somebody that you always have to know when he's on the ice. Whenever you face elite players, you have to know where they are. Obviously, he's feeling it coming off of Game 7. We've got to know when he's on the ice. He's a guy that you have to make sure especially you tie up that stick of his.” - Scott Arniel after his team’s loss against the Stars in game 2 of this series on Wednesday.
