Stars - Kraken preview, prediction and analysis

The Dallas Stars and Seattle Kraken are set to face off in what promises to be an exciting matchup on March 11, 2023. The game will take place at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, and will be the first time these two teams have faced each other this season.

Both teams have had an up-and-down season so far, with the Dallas Stars currently sitting in first place in the Central Division and the Seattle Kraken in third place in the Pacific Division. However, there is still plenty of time left in the season for both teams to make a push for the playoffs.

The Dallas Stars are a team that has been known for their strong defensive play in recent years, and this season is no exception. Led by their captain and top defenseman, Miro Heiskanen, the Stars have allowed the fourth-fewest goals in the league so far this season. However, their offense has been inconsistent at times, and they will need to find a way to generate more scoring opportunities if they want to make a deep playoff run.

One player to keep an eye on for the Stars is forward Roope Hintz, who has been having a breakout season. Hintz leads the team in both goals and points and has been a driving force behind the Stars' offense.

On the other side of the ice, the Seattle Kraken are a new expansion team that has been competitive in their first season in the league. They have been led by their top line of Matty Beniers, Jared McCann, and Jaden Schwartz, who have combined for 45 goals and 97 points so far this season.

Overall, this game should be an exciting matchup between two teams that are looking to climb the standings in their respective divisions. The Stars will be looking to continue their strong defensive play and get their offense going, while the Kraken will be looking to rely on their top line to generate scoring chances.

In terms of special teams, the Stars have a slight advantage on the power play, where they have been clicking at a 22.1% rate. The Kraken's penalty kill has been solid, however, and they will need to continue that trend if they want to come away with a win.

The key to victory for the Stars will be to play a tight defensive game and limit the Kraken's top line, while also finding a way to generate offense of their own. For the Kraken, they will need to get their goaltending and penalty kill in order and rely on their top line to carry the load offensively.

In conclusion, this game between the Dallas Stars and Seattle Kraken should be an exciting matchup between two teams that are looking to make a push for the playoffs. With both teams having their strengths and weaknesses, it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top in what promises to be a hard-fought battle.
