Stars vs Avalanche Prediction

The current betting odds have the Avalanche listed as a big favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. This is game 4 of a 7 game series between the 2nd seeded Stars and the 3rd seeded Avalanche from the Central Division for the 1st round of the NHL playoffs. The Stars are leading this series 2-1 after winning game 3 on the road. The Stars took a 2-1 series lead with a 2-1 win over the Avalanche in the 3rd game of this series and that was a really tight game for them. They started the game down 1-0, but they stayed in it and eventually found the tying goal in the 3rd period, going on to win the game in OT. The Stars looked terrible coming into the playoffs and even lost game 1 on home ice, but now they have found some momentum with 2 overtime wins in a row and have flipped the home advantage back in their favor. This is a big game for the Avalanche to bounce back in though. The Avalanche don't want to go back to Dallas facing elimination after winning the 1st game of this series on the road so they are going to throw everything they have at the Stars in this one, and they have the talent to find the net. They also got a key player back in that last game as their captain Landeskog returned after missing the last 3 years, and it really helped on the defensive end with only 2 goals allowed. This is a desperate situation for the Avalanche and they are going to have a response after losing 2 really tight games in OT, blowing leads in both of those too. The best way to place a bet here is on the Avalanche to win this game.

Stars Avalanche Prediction:  Our NHL Pick for Saturday, April 26, 2025 (9:30 pm ET start time) is Avalanche 3 Stars 1.

Notable Quotes

“Gutsy win. You go in after the game and you want to acknowledge some of the key guys and key plays, and really, I could’ve gone around the room. Everybody jumped in tonight and did their part. I thought we worked for a win, did a lot of really good things. ‘Otter’ was great. It started last game. I thought he got better as the game went on as the heat turned up in the game. He got better last game, and he did the same tonight. That’s not an easy game for him to play in.” - Pete DeBoer after his team’s win against the Avalanche in game 2 of this series on Wednesday.

“We knew it wasn't going to be easy -- we're playing one of the top teams in the League. That's what you can expect. Not a lot of room out there on either side of it, right? Someone's got to make and have an exceptional effort, five guys all on the same page, everyone doing the right thing, and then you still got to be able to beat their coverage in order to create scoring chances. The reality of it is it's the first team to four (wins), and we're still in the series.” - Jared Bednar after his team’s loss against the Stars in game 2 of this series on Wednesday.
