Coastal Carolina vs Arkansas State Prediction
The total is set at 70 points and the spread at 17 points in favor of CCU with the current betting odds at draftkings sportsbook. Arkansas State is a really bad team this year but their offense is not the issue as they have been able to move the ball well and score points in all of their games this year. It is their defense that has been giving up a lot of yards and points, allowing over 40 points per game. Coastal Carolina has been great on offense all year and they will likely score a lot of points in this game. They have also been very good on defense though, and they are a ranked team unlike the other teams Arkansas State has faced this year. The Red Wolves will likely struggle to move the ball on them and will not be able to score a lot in this game. CCU is going to score but they will likely cap out around 50 so the best bet to place here is on the under as the total is very high and there will not be enough points in this game to hit that number with Coastal Carolina's defense. Another great bet to place here would be on CCU to cover the spread as their defense will likely enable them to spread the gap as the game goes on.

Players to Watch
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers: Grayson McCall is one player to watch on this team. He is the quarterback and the leader of this offense. He was taken out of the last game with an injury and if he starts this game it will be interesting to see how serious the injury really is. Keen an eye on him and their quarterback position in this game as there could end up being different ones playing if he gets taken out.
Arkansas State Red Wolves: Corey Rucker is one player to watch here. He leads his team in receiving yards and has a team-high in touchdowns scored this season. He is coming off of a good game where he almost had 100 yards receiving. He is a key piece in this offense so look for him to get a lot of looks and find the end zone in this one.
“If we were playing next Saturday, he would have come right back out and been normal and nobody would have known anything. But since it’s a Thursday and a quicker turnaround, we just wanted to take the extra precaution to make sure if that injury is worse than what we think, we’ve done everything possible to let him be able to play Thursday.” - Jamey Chadwell on taking Grayson McCall out of the game early in their last one.
“If you can’t stop the run and you can’t run the football, it’s really hard to win football games.” - Butch Jones after their loss to Tulsa a few weeks ago.
